Ok , yesterday i worked half day on 2 illustrations, and I wanted to use transparency. I saved my work as eps10 files.

Today when i open them again , all layers were lost (everything was in 1 layer)  , all elements were full ungrouped , and background which was an radial gradient lost
distance between colors and only showed white. In bridge my thumb looks normal.

I used only transparency and blend modes (multiply i think) , and using illustrator CS4 , i saved files as eps10

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Your doing transparency and radial effects wrong :).

EPS 10 do not support those (sometimes radial will work, but most time it will rasterize (convert to bitmaps)).

To fix transparency issues, here is what I do. I get the color the mix of the transparent item and backgroud makes, then use that color to replace the transarency. We see no difference whatsoever doing this.

For more information, I just posted a useful link for this. Extended select script also helps to find Transparency and Raster item.

See this thread it will surely help you:
