Can anyone tell me how to find what sells best on microsites?

For me it varies a lot site to site, I dont think I have the same top seller on any of the sites I submit to. Try to be original then review your sales month on month to see what sells (thats what I do anyway)

Flowers, cats, dogs and holiday snaps, all sell like crazy.

Only joking.  ;D

If we knew what was going to be the top seller in the next month we could all be rich.
3d art sells well for me.

Yep __ try doing a few searches. The pictures with the biggest numbers where it says 'Downloads' are the best selling ones.

It depends what I am doing. I have Bryce, 3dsMax and Carrera. I also do a lot in Photoshop.

You may try blender which is free.

Cinema4D is not free, but has very good user interface - easy to learn.

See tutorial of modeling rat in Cinema4d:

Very good work! If your work is good and needed no matter what site its on you'll have good sales. :)

Nothing special.
CPU: AMD Dual-Core Athlon A64 X2 6000+
2 GB RAM
ordinary graphic card

You may prepare scenes and then render hi-res images over night..

It is hard question and I am not HW expert.
I think budget is most important.
Possibilities are unlimited - you can even connect more computers
to increase render speed.

CPU benchmarks is very useful for making decision.
See benchmark for Cinema4D rendering time:
