Title: Check your images in this portfolio. I've found one...
Post by: max headroom on December 20, 2017, 06:29
This thief stole one of my images and selling in his Shutterstock portfolio after changing its brightness.
The image is in his first page of popularity ranking. It seems selling quite well.
So why shutterstock just remove it instead of transferring the earnings to the actual owner?

Please check for your images in his portfolio (it may be partially used, flipped, edited or color modified)

I have found 4 stolen food images at first look.

Did you report him?
I did. But I think they need more complaining people to close the account.

Did SS really demanded for more people complaining?

I thought, if a person complains about just one image then SS warn the thief to remove that image. If several people complain then SS close the account. We'll see what they will do. I have checked and found 5-6 images that belong to some other contributors who should be informed but no contact info.

I doubt it works that way. 5-6 stolen images is no longer a coincidence, so they should close the account.

Pretty sure I've purchased a couple of those (The Raspberries and the juice bottles with no label). Hopefully I got them from the real producer.

He has got so many similars why are they not deleted by SS? If I upload similars only 1 is accepted. Not impressed at all by so many paper bags etc.

Yes, I always wonder how these contributors get away with uploading so many similars. I always got rejects too. My conclusion was that they either worked for SS or were friends with someone who worked for SS. At any rate, that means the deck is stacked. Yet another thing that SS hasn't bothered to fix.

If you upload them in different batches they will probably go through. I uploaded an illo fairly recently that I already had in my portfolio (I just forgot). Not a similar, a practically identical to the one that was already there. It was happily accepted. Later I deleted it, because it's stupid, but there was no problem.

His image =   579681535
mama_mia = 201844858 (in other words, original macaroons, was years before his) 378 million earlier

Copied it and flipped, did a minor color variation

Same with this one

thief version = 585173128
KMNPhoto  =    307642556 (original Autumn leaves and vegetables on wood background) 278 million earlier

Didn't even bother to flip this one:

I don't know these people, didn't go hunting for them, but easy proof that this Viktor OG didn't just steal a couple random files. Maybe the bags and people backs and sitting on a park bench are his. The ones that are studio and concepts aren't.
