Title: Ebay Seller of Stock Images
Post by: rubyroo on May 17, 2013, 17:01
Not sure if this has already been posted here - but scroll down the page to see if your images are here.  Rimglow, I believe I recognise some of your own work in this collection(?) :(

Couldn't see any of mine in any of this seller's listings but those are not all images that come with those sets.

Spread the word so somebody who recognizes a photo contact the copyright owner with a link to the auctions.

DMCA claim to ebay should be in order to get this guy taken out.

I just sent in an Ebay copyright complaint against this seller.  However, I haven't contacted that person.  Should I wait to see what Ebay says or contact the seller? I don't know where the images were hijacked from.

The image from my portfolio is not available on SS but it is on FT, DT and IS.

So sorry to hear that guys... I'd have probably taken the same approach as you Mantis, but I've never had to deal with an infringement so I don't know what's best.  Hopefully someone more knowledgable can advise.

Good luck both of you.  Let us know how things develop.

i've asked a question about copyright. but wondering what language to put it in?

oh wow, there's heaps more, not just food.

oh and he's the best kind of photographer: one who shoots lots of women in lingerie. Yup, a real artist.  ::)

He/she is in Lithuania.  I found tons of artists on Istock whose work is included in those collections.

I guess iS exclusives who find their work there should contract CR, but of course they don't work weekends and can take a few days to answer.
Also a possibility to contact [email protected] as per this post:

They took down a couple of this guys photo CDs but let him keep his account and another couple of photo cds. How greedy can eBay be to want to keep a thief as a seller?

Plus he has sexy cute teens still up for sales.  The montage has a big Dreamstime watermark over it.  Guess we know where he pirated the images from.

Ebay will not really do anything unless you a big player such as adobevor microsoft.
eBay needs to abide the laws, so yes they will do something. But with over 110 million items on offer at any given time, it takes time to check everything. They have inhouse teams just looking at forbidden content. Just because they dont remove an item within one day of reporting it, doesnt mean they dont care or allow it. It takes a big team a week to review 500,000 images. How long does it take to review over a 100 million items on an ongoing bases?

you can send ebay an  ad showing that the item offered is pirated and their response is not to do anything until the copyright owner files a complaint , so at least here we do have several of the copyright owners who can complain
