Title: Freecodesource.com, What IS this site?
Post by: ravens on August 14, 2014, 08:18
What's up with this site freecodesource.com?

It has tons of Shutterstock photos. If you click Download Photo Without Watermark
it directs you to SS, but look at that HTML under the image:
"Display this Stock Photo on your Website or Blog"
and then there's HTML code.

Displaying someone else's SS watermarked photo on your website/blog can't be legal??
Anyone know about this?

See for yourself

Looks like it's a 'partner' site. Someone can save out the watermarked pic as they can from SS itself, but if you click on get an unwatermarked version, you get taken to SS. I suppose freecodesource gets a kickback from SS.
I find these partner sites annoying - iS has them too - but a lot of them seem to be legit.
