On the subject of finding your images in use you might want to try the new See In Action feature at Dreamstime (I don't think this has been mentioned on MSG as yet). Just go to your sales page and hover to the right of the thumbnail of the sold image. Click the See In Action box and it does an immediate Google search for that image on the internet. The great advantage is that you don't have to faff around uploading the image first like you do with a reverse image search. My very first search threw up an Ebook cover featuring my Avatar cat http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23414251-figaro-the-cat-detective-and-the-great-dog-pooh-mystery which was quite fun to see. Note, it's not showing you where Dreamstime sold that particular image -just internet matches in general.
Thanks for that seems to be throwing up some odd stuff too though with my image thrown in a random document...strange

This is Google Image Search. It's a function which has by been available by Google for a few years, it's not specific to Dreamstime. When searching in the image section on Google you can drag any image on the net to the search bar, once you drop the image there it shows where the image is used online.

I think he's saying that this does that automatically and continuously though. Dragging 10,000 images into Google every other day could get a bit time consuming.

I think I'm going to give this a try, so I'll let you know how I get on. I only have video though, but the FAQ says that you can upload a still frame from the video and it will still find stuff. Worth a shot! Not doing it now though, I'm far too hungover.

I was referring to the above mentioned DT facility. The links on dt are only on the earnings pages. So if you had a specific image in mind which is not showing on the most recent earning pages, then it would be better to go to the image page either on dt, ss or anywhere and drag it in to google. Although granted doing this for 10,000 images would be a bit much.

Or you can use the extension for Chrome (then you only have to right clik the image and then select search Google with this image). You don't have to upload anything. I think there is also one for firefox.

If you have 10,000 images (or even only 1000) you will not be able to do the search for them all, one by one, with TineEye or Google. Let alone other search engines. picMatch does that for you. And the value is really in the fact that it will search for your images, again, and again, and again. And it will (or should) find new matches overtime. Our testing has shown that it in fact does find new matches, as it re-runs the search for the same images again.

Google images search is free

Even though I would like to believe this service is working slightly better than Google Image Search or Tineye, I don't see any value other than 'feeling happy about finding your images being used'. It may stroke your ego, but the direct financial benefits are unclear if not absent. So in the long run, this service only costs you money. It would be more useful to have a tool that would allow you to find all illegal uses.

The real problem is not finding my images. That easy, I found my images in use, and sadly, series of them in many-many online free-to-download collections. Then what? 95% of the time there's nothing you can do, which means you just shouldn't bother with the whole thing 100% of the time. Sure, you can have some of those sites taken down with DMCA.... and they pop up somewhere else in 15 minutes.

Interesting app but...
$19 sometime a month  for a 5000 pictures? One bulk search a month..only one and no custom search.
microstock doesn't pay that well guys...

Monitoring just for eyeballing is a waste of time and, monitoring with a purpose cost money because you have to take action.

Maybe this app will be good for legal departments in microstock agencies .. or large companies that have to defend their IP such as Disney or other brands.

Maybe even this app would make more sense with Right Managed images instead of roayalty free .. With rights managed you have to garantee that nobody is using the image for the same purpose...and it gets serious when it comes to advertising use where budgets are pretty high and where the money really is, and you could get sued by the advertising agency if you failed to protect your IP.

Sorry, can't spell today.

@SpaceStockFootage: Do not expect to find stolen images. This doesn't happen a lot. In my case, I found no stolen images, except one that I'm not sure about...and this is actually reassuring. Instead, I found out many places where my images are used (images purchased through stock agencies). For example, I found that one of my pictures is used in a book! This is great! A nice book too! I then made sure that I've actually sold this picture through a stock agency and after confirming this, it just made me happy! Other examples: one of my images found in an article on the Tampa Bay Times website (with the iStockphoto.com mention under the image). So I know it's not stolen and this makes me happy to see my picture is used in a newspaper. One last example: One of my pictures of dandelions is used on a packaging for weed killer...I didn't know that before using picmatch, but now I know, and it is great! This is only 3 examples, I found a bunch more...

Picmatch is a tool to build your client list, not to sue people!

I'm pretty sure you would find mostly nice surprises, which will make you happy, instead of making you depressed.
This might be a feel good service, but I sell through agencies under agreements that would not allow me to solicit their customers directly.   And I would need a payback from recoveries to exceed the cost of the service, which I do not think this would do.
