Each year (for the last 7 years) I conducted a survey under my Facebook followers and asked them what 10 stock agencies gained them the most money in the previous year.

If you want to participate, please answer directly in my facebook post here:https://www.facebook.com/fotoproduzent/posts/pfbid02zqdMHyC661xGNrZeQqxZteatYjfMbFcoRgxLFexagFMJW9rvjdCdVFBAVQdnvAel]

[/url]

Just list your 10 best earning stock agencies from high to low.
If you contribute to less then 10, just answer with less.

If you are exclusive with one agency, list that agency and state that you are exclusive.

As usual I will post the combined results in a separate blog post in my blog. I will link to it here as well.

Many thanks in advance,
Robert

Does anybody (Mat?) know if there will be an Adobe Stock contributor bonus program for 2023?

New Sites - General / Clipdealer NOT paying? I offered help
« on: December 05, 2023, 04:56 »
Hello,

there are many accounts reported here in the forum that the German based stock agency Clipdealer was not paying their photographers.
So I took the matter into my own hands and helped to photographers with the legal details to get their outstanding money.

Read more about it here, if you are also affected, feel free to contact me:
https://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2023/12/05/fotografen-mahnen-ab-der-gerichtsvollzieher-bei-der-bildagentur-clipdealer/

I am on it.
I did exactly that, I am a German photographer and I offered two other photographers to help them get their Clipdealer payouts.
It took us with an attorney over a year, but finally we were able to receive the missing money.
If you are interested in my help, simply contact me.

I will publish a blog post about it shortly, I will link to it here then.

@Brasilnut:
Thanks for the update.
I think the most worrying find of your experiment was the amount of potential thieves trying to re-sell your free images.
This does directly hut your own sales at the stock agencies, as it shifts the sales to more people and away from your images.
On a small scale maybe, but nevertheless...

General Stock Discussion / Freepik acquiring EyeEm?
« on: September 18, 2023, 04:34 »
There is news in the insolvency plans for EyeEm Mobile Gmbh:

(in German though, please use Google Translate if necessary)

You had some cars in your AI portfolio that are most likely trademarked, but I am not sure if that would justify a complete ban.

Statement about the missing data deal payments from Wirestock here in my new blog post (in German):
https://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2023/08/17/wirestock-und-die-fehlenden-datendeals-auszahlungen-reaktion-von-wirestock/

in short: they claim they will pay out in august or september 2023.

UPDATE:

I just got a short, though somewhat insatisfying, answer from the insolvency lawyer working on the EyeEm insolvency:
https://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2023/04/25/erste-stellungnahme-zur-eyeem-insolvenz-vom-insolvenzverwalter/
(in German, you can use Google Translate)

Hello,

after EyeEm declared insolvency some days ago I sent a press inquiry to Getty Images on what happens with the EyeEm Collection at Getty Images.
They confirmed that they terminated the contract with EyeEm and that they are in the process of deleting the images in the EyeEm Collection.

You can read my blog article (in German) here, the statement from Getty Images is in English:

General Stock Discussion / EyeEm - More than a warning!
« on: April 04, 2023, 08:50 »
As many of you have already noticed, does EyeEm not pay royalties to contributors anymore since October 2022 and there are currently no new sales reports coming in.

So I went directly to the EyeEm Mobile GmbH headoffice in Berlin (Lobeckstr. 30-35) and all I found there was a dirty full mailbox that looked like it has not been emptied for many weeks.

You can see a screenshot here on my Facebook post (https://www.facebook.com/fotoproduzent/posts/pfbid02sw3Pr8fTWUCEJQZF4jFKsALEdWAQC33twED1rrtUZzQdpGFdcZAWJHsH7WQsdjQVl) and you can also find more information about the topic in my (German language) blog post here:
https://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2023/03/09/warnung-bildagentur-eyeem-zahlt-seit-monaten-keine-fotografenhonorare-mehr-aus/

Update 4.4.2023:
EyeEm officially filed today for insolvency!
(see full details here: https://neu.insolvenzbekanntmachungen.de/ap/text.xhtml?x=0.9019304020477832)

This could be tacked onto the recent similar news thread?

https://www.microstockgroup.com/general-stock-discussion/yuri-arcurs-leaves-exclusivity-with-istock/

Thanks, did miss that one, I was only searching if he had a new portfolio at Shutterstock as well.
Will add that...

17
It has been almost nine years since microstock superstar Yuri Arcurs announced his exclusivity contract with iStock/Getty Images.

However, around December 2021 a new portfolio from "peopleimages.com" (a Yuri Arcurs company) popped up at Adobe Stock:
https://stock.adobe.com/de/contributor/210716081/peopleimages-com

You can read more about it in my blog entry (in German, Google Translate will usually work for English translations):
https://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2022/03/25/yuri-arcurs-ist-zurueck-peopleimages-com-portfolio-seit-vier-monaten-auf-adobe-stock/

18
They got in contact with me as well, in the contract they sent me it says as details for the other party:
"MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS GROWTH S.L., in the name of VECPHO with an address
at MLAGA (SPAIN) with Id. card no ESB________ Hereinafter, the ADVISER." (cleared number due to privacy)

Sounds phishy.

@MatHayward

Is there any download limit per day/week? Can someone download all 70.000 assets without any time limit if they want?

@theendup...yes, there is a download limit. For customers without a paid subscription or credits, they are limited to a maximum of 100 downloads per day. This number is subject to change as we gather more data on customer behavior.

Thanks for the question.

-Mat

100 free downloads a day? That is way too much, I'd limit that to about 10 images per day. Whoever needs more images per day should be able to pay for it.

Canva / Re: Canva announcement
« on: August 25, 2020, 01:36 »
Canva has become a total mess.

The royalty earning numbers move unpredictable and change over time, even vor month already passed and we only get information from Canva that "something is wrong", without further explanation.

This is highly unprofessional and untrustworthy.

When asking the support by email, I get answers many weeks later with content-free copy & paste phrases.

Canva / Re: Negative earnings anyone

It's still not resolved and as of today (14th of July) there are still the Canva Pro subscription commissions missing in the dashboard.

« on: June 17, 2020, 02:05 »
My update:

I contacted Canva via twitter message, Facebook message and email.

They replied to my Twitter message:
"Hi Robert! We replied to your Facebook message. Please check it out"

Their facebook message reads:
"Hi Rob, thanks for waiting! For your concern, you can fill out the form here > https://support.canva.com/contributors/contributor-help/contributor-support-form/. Let us know once you're done. Thanks!"

So I did, it feels like communicating in a circle.

I also got paid on 15th of June with the exact same amount as in April 2020.

So it looks like there is a severe problem in their payment and accounting system.

Did anyone get a reply yet?

I got a short reply to my Facebook message, but they just said that they could not find a BUYER account under my name (which is correct), so I had to clarify that I meant that earnings are missing from my SELLER account.

Yes, same here.

My subcription earnings from April 2020 to May 2019 have vanished, so I am in minus right now.
Since it is covers 12 month, I have a little bit of hope that this is due to a bug.

I already send an email, twitter message and facebook message, but no reply so far.

General Stock Discussion / Re: new shutterstock tos differences?
« on: February 06, 2020, 03:55 »
Hello,

I made a word-by-word comparision with their old and new terms in my new blog post.
https://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2020/02/06/shutterstock-versteckt-aenderungen-in-neuen-nutzungsbedingungen/

It seems that the opt-out possibility for "sensitive use" and "extended licenses" have been removed.

It's in German though, but the full text of both ToS can he read here in english as well:
http://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Vergleichsbericht-Shutterstock-Terms-of-Service-2020-02.pdf

Best regards,
Robert
