Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe's Categories
« on: Today at 18:00 »
I was a graphic designer and frequently bought images (as well as being a contributor). I never used categories in a search.

Just an FYI, I have gotten 2 separate emails so far today for 2 separate images that sold yesterday. Maybe they are going back to the old system? I am ok with separate emails, and I am ok with 1 grouped email daily, as long as all images that sold that day are listed, along with what they sold for.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Pond5 "Good News"!
« on: Yesterday at 12:43 »
This is the new Pond5 terms.

If you do not enroll in the Exclusivity Program, notwithstanding section 3.b. above, you shall not set the price for an item of video Content that is higher than the lowest price for which the same (or substantially the same) Content item is offered by or on any Other Marketplace, and if we discover that the Content item is offered at a lower price by or on any Other Marketplace, we may change the price of your content in our marketplace.

What do you think that price is. SS has $1.50 clips now? What price is P5 looking to implement. They just did the trial (without any prior warning) of dropping prices. Do you think they have a price in mind? Do you think they will drop all nonexclusive clips drop in price overnight?

No, that would be dumb. I think it is just a way to protect themselves for say the odd contributor who has 1000's of clips say priced at $10 on envato, and then priced at $150 at Pond5.

OR - it could also be a way for them to appease customers that 'shop around'. (So you don't necessarily get "all" your clips or anything changed - just if a customer says "Hey! I just bought this clip for $150, but found it for $10 at envato!!" - then pond5 might refund the difference, and/or "price-match".

If they are going to price-match, think of the accounting nightmare that will unleash! Lots of contributor clawbacks will start a riot!

Redistribution ... you cannot download someone elsess image, then upload it and sell the image file as your own. You dont own the copyright, that is redistribution.

Commercial use in a project...you download an image, use it in a printed newsletter, or on a website. Thats commercial use. Your arent reselling the actual image file, you are using the image in a project. Basically the whole point of stock images.

Downloading someone elses image, using in with your image, then uploading to sell as your own, thats not allowed because you dont own the copyright to the image you downloaded.

5
no. anything you upload you must own copyright to.

I dont necessarily think they are hiding stuff (ok, maybe), I just think their web designers have no clue. They try to be hip and modern with the design, and then it ruins functionality.

7
Maybe they use AI and it thought that was a body part of a person.
LOL. 😄

I don't understand why ppl start sending emails immideately, when they don't get their money right away. Ridicilous.

A few of us mentioned we got paid on the 6th. If it were me, Id be wondering where my money was too, when todays the 14th. Seems like they have always paid everyone at the same time. If they have changed their policy, contributors should know. The OP is asking legitimate questions. Since they do say you will get paid by the 15th, which is tomorrow, if you dont have it tomorrow, for sure start hounding them for a reason. Mograph, did you already get the email from them saying how much your earnings were?

I got paid on the 6th. Are you sure you reached your payout limit?

The subject line says $150/K a year. So yes, $150 a year is doable. $150K, not so much.

If you go to the top and click Forum, scroll down to Envato...you can see past posts of what others think of envato. How they treated their contributors in the past is likely a pretty good clue of how they still treat them. Just about every microstock company treats contributors worse as time goes on (regarding pay, among other things).

Excellent, I see a little home at the bottom. Thanks Leaf for all of your hard work!

SS is nothing but a thieves den and scam magnet. I just got a payout, I am deleting my photos and getting out of there, after 14 years. $hit happens, but they dont seem to care about doing anything about it all. Um, no. I will already be leaving money on the table, and I cant find a way to batch delete images so will take me a couple of days, but enough is enough. The horse has probably already left the barn, and is across the country by now, but whatever.

I was able to send a spam message to the garbage earlier, but then I tried to post here that I had done that, but I couldnt post!  ;D  Looks like its working now

I get an unsecure form message. I also tried the Report to moderator link at the bottom of the spam post and got the same error.

Yes, leaving them in, I think, is a privacy thing. But then Im paranoid too. As has been said, each site typically has different rules.

I have few sales today but don't get "Content Sold" emails. Anybody else?

I have been getting them.

At one point, years ago when it was first on the scene, sales for me were good. Then they sold the company and it tanked. I ended up closing my account.
