Hi:  can somebody help me with this question:  I am planning a trip to India next year and read somewhere that a photo permit is required to photograph (especially with tripod).  Does anybody have any experience with that and knows the procedures (where, what, how long and how much!)

Thanks!

Hi,
No photo permit is not required at most places, especially if you inform the locals that you are a tourist.
The permit procedures are very long and lengthy. I would recommend only if you are financially very sound to try that.
Cheers

Translated: you'll have to bribe officials.
Remedy: just shoot and if they question you, just reply you're a stupid Westerner with Parkinson that needs a tripod.  ;)

LOL!

My wife says I'm "doing the Bimbo" thing and she is amazed at how much you can get away with if your friendly, smiling, polite and act dumb.
