Title: $0.60 sale on Thinkstock
Post by: KONJINA on August 15, 2016, 10:42
I don't know if this is weird or not since I'm newbie here (uploading images just for few months now) but today for the first time (after more than 200 Thinkstock downloads) I noticed picture that didn't earn 0.28, but 0.60.
Rest of downloads seem to be all for 0.28.

Yes it is possible,  in the last months I also have $1.0, and $3.96 sales via thinkstock but they are rare.

How do you know they're definitely from Thinkstock and not Getty Plus, which can be for any amount? Both show green on your stats charts.

Well first thing is that Getty images are not showing yet (for me at least), since I'm noob I don't understand all about which images are on Getty but I think I don't have Getty Plus images.
Other thing is that since I'm newbie with small portfolio and not too many downloads I can find out which image has been downloaded and see where is it downloaded from.

All images on iStock are available on GettyPlus, which is a subset of Getty buyers who can use their Getty account to buy from Getty or iS (exclusive and indie).
In the early days of this scheme, our payment could be pretty decent (I got $50 for my first one), then they rapidly dwindled to the tiny amounts you both mention.

I didn't know you could see for sure that a sale came from Thinkstock specifically. I thought the green sales were just 'Partner Program' or 'Partner Portal' (I don't know the difference between these two). How do you find out that it was TS?

Here is the official down on GettyPlus (G+), but as so often with iStock communications, I find it ambiguous and confusing. I wish they would learn to write in Plain English. (G+ used to be called Getty360, hence the URI):

As you can see from the royalty rate, which presumably you checked before signing up, there can be varying rates of payment from Thinkstock depending on what the buyer purchased:

If you install the toolbar with Google Chrome, it will actually show you which site it came from. 'Think stock' shows up differently than 'Getty'

Oh, right, I forgot about the Chrome toolbar. Thanks for the reminder! (I'm not on TS).

It could be seen without toolbar but not in the graph. I found out what picture it was, went on view download history and under partner program tab it says if it is Getty, Thinkstock or Partner Portal (at least I got just those three). It is easy to track it for me because I don't have many files and downloads so I keep tracking it to know what sells the best and where. In stats on main page all of these sales are green.

I got one or two of those and was wandering what it is, but last night something a bit more interesting happened, I got one image sold trough partner program for $40. Wow, while being a beginner with less than 100 images and mostly just in a process of unloading travel stuff from hdd that might sell before actually shooting anything stock oriented, I'm amazed, I just hope it gets a habit of it, if it ever happens again at all :D
