From which phones are mobilestock pics being accepted?
iPhone4/5 and ... ?

Edited because for no good reason I put 'cameras' in the SL and my question.

I know this is an iStock question but - the iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPhone 4, iPhone 3Gs, Samsung Galaxy I & II, Droid Incredible, HTC Evo, HTC Evo 3D, MyTouch 4g Slide, Samsung Droid Charge, Nexus S 4G, Motorola Droid Razr, Motorola Droid Bionic are the only phones Getty is accepting mobile images from at the moment. Might be a good starting point if you're looking for a suitable phone.

Does that specifically exclude the Galaxy S3, which is currently top of my shortlist for other reasons?

I honestly don't know - I'm an iPhone user and haven't paid any attention to whether there's been any specific exclusions. I just know that's the list we were given. If that model is newer than something on that list, then its probably fine but I can't say for sure what the quality might be like.

Interesting about HTC. I'd paid no attention to smart phones until this week, and hadn't even heard of that brand until today.

There's no list on IS. Any mobile device that meets size and tech reqs.

The list I posted assumes that ShadySue is shopping for a phone and wants one with a good camera. The fact that Getty has (for whatever reason) selected that list of phones might be an indicator of the potential quality of images they could provide. Just a starting point.

I like the photos I take with my Nokia E72. It has controls for WB, exposure, contrast.

I don't know about iPhone, but I have an iPod Touch and I don't like its camera, it's all automatic and quality isn't any good for a serious purpose.

I think the iPod camera is not the same as the one in the iPhone, but could be wrong about that. Regardless, you might consider trying http://jag.gr/645pro/ - you can produce nice TIFF files which give you a lot more editing leeway.

I realised your intention and appreciate the help. I knew iS didn't have one, and hadn't a clue where to start. The shops don't really encourage you to take pics and load them onto a stick to take home and examine! That list is more extensive than I'd imagined. Interesting that none of the Sonys are on it.

Later: just checked and the reason I haven't heard of some on the list (considering I'm passing daily train journeys with my nose in mobile catalogues) is that our main operators don't have them on their plans. I thought it might just be a different name here That makes my shortlist shorter again.

I've got a couple accepted with my Galaxy Player 5.0 (I think I only submitted 2 so that's pretty good). The ipod and iphone have different cameras.

I believe one good phone for stock is the Nokia 808 with 41MP camera and Carl Zeiss optics.If the image will be PP correctly and downsized to about 8-10MP the end result will be fine.

I'm very happy with the pics from my Samsung Galaxy 3, and so is iStock, apparently, even when I mutilate them in trendy apps just to see what happens with acceptance.
