Title: 10 dollars extra, but why?
Post by: epixx on July 12, 2008, 21:35
Yesterday, the balance of my IS account suddenly jumped 10 dollars for no apparent reason. No regular sales and no EL. Has anybody had the same experience?

Check referrals.  The only time I had a 10$ bonus I eventually figured out that it was a buyer.  But either the money goes into your account before the referal appears or it takes you longer to find it.  Your landing page should have a referred members down the right hand side.

The referrals that are there have been there for some time. Oh well, guess I should just smile and let it pass  :)

Yes, I also experimented that, two or three times, and it is not because of referals, extended sale, prints or whatever. Strange.

If it is not reflected in your stats graph, it is a referral. If it is reflected in your stats graph, it could be any of the other options. Sometimes they are hard to figure out, but with the new "my uploads" page, it's much easier now.

Since you've only had one referral, that one is pretty easy to rule out.

To check the actual dates of extended license sales (this sounds like a $50 EL sale to me, though it is pretty unusual to get an even 10 dollar royalty like that) go to your profile page, then the Financials tab. There is a section on the right side with the title "Earnings". Below that is a link "View Extended License Earnings".

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find it, you just gotta figure out the right place to look. :)

It was a referral. I just had to look for it in the right place. Why on earth can't they have one page that gives an overview of all earnings?

Thanks bittersweet for taking that time to disambiguate Istock interface  ;)
I used to go  My Uploads > Extended Licenses, never through the financial tab. A good thing there is you can see the date of the purchase.
Btw, there is still a difference I don't understand between the total on the graph, and the effective sales for the day of 07/08/2008... but I stop here my investigation, I have some other things to do ;)

There are only so many columns they can fit on one page. :D

I don't know exactly what kind of difference you are referring to. Subscriptions would credit on the following day, and prints or ELs would throw off the totals as well. Of course the easiest thing to do if you can't figure it out is to just contact Support and they will clear it all up for you. ;)
