There is no google play on Huawei phones therefore no way to register for contributor account. I tried to download app from web but not google play but they simply wont work. I tried to get them email few times but no replies. Do you know any other way around to register at istockphoto as contributor?

Buying new phone just to register there is too expensive.

@Disappear:
I have tried to register as a contributor without the app too, but it didn't work - after I finally got someone from the support, they told me there is no other way anymore.
So I used the phone of my wife to register.
After the registration process I can use the Deepmeta tool on PC to upload my stuff, so the smartphone is only needed to apply for a contributor account.

@ForReal:
Sorry, but such advice really no one needs... I guess I just do not understand such completely unproductive advices... that's maybe because I have no sense of humor at all ;-)

So, you do believe a photographer, who needs expensive equipment these days to produce a decent photo, can buy that camera and lenses but cannot buy a cheap-ass Iphone or Samsung.

Hmmm....

But how did you get the equipment to shoot the great photo you want to contribute?

I didn't know that new people could only register from a phone, that's strange. But good answer, "Use someone else's phone to register" then everything is fine. I'll add or a tablet.  :)

Let me send a "Hmmm..." too - I didn't say anything about things I do or don't believe.

What I said is that noone needs such advice, which is a fact and nothing else. So, merry X-mas and have fun :-)

@UnclePete:
Yes, a tablet should work too and I think using a smartphone emulator (like MEmu) should be a possibility too (but with a little more effort)

I liked your simple solution though... use someone else's phone or tablet and register, after that, no problems.

If you have a PC you can try installing the free Bluestacks 5, an Android emulator, which comes with a working Google Play Store.

The other option is to just borrow a friend's phone to register.

Nice to know, I'd never have heard of that work around. (not that I'm likely to ever need it)

And good that you got in the door.  ;D

seems like many are complaining about not covering their eqpt purchases when it's a poor choice if you're only doing MS

i downshifted to a bridge camera at 1/2 the weight & have no decrease in acceptance across all agencies

Probably by making sound financial judgements... i.e. not buying a $100+ phone just to sign up to a website.

Is that a good thing?  ;)

At least you got signed up and can try and see what you think about that on your own. Best wishes.

Suggestion if you already haven't started, get Deep Meta (or use Qhero) and use that to upload and track. The way the data is presented is better and easier to read than from iStock itself. I also use Today is 20 just because I like the simple display of what sold what I earned. But both of them are useful for monitoring your business, sales, income and can be helpful for determining what you might want to create more of?

If you use something from the start, your images will be registered and your sales will be tracked. The advantage of Todayis20 is, it reads from your ESP Txt reports of data.
