Title: A good surprise, but where does it come from?
Post by: madelaide on September 24, 2007, 15:53
I found US$10 more in my IS account.  I see it in the referrals earnings, but my only referred member signed up in January.  Why is that, he bought credits today and I got a commission?

Regards,
Adelaide

No, it wouldn't have been the referral from January. Most likely you had a new referral and the system hasn't updated yet. The money turns up in accounts instantly, but I think the referral thing is like the stats.

I have had 8 referrals now.  It is a nice little extra bonus.  Some of them are designers that have joined and downloaded one of my photos, so that is even better :)

So what about the referral from January?  I didn't make any money from him.  I know because I keep such bonus in a separate column in my spreadsheet.

Still no new name on the referral list...

Did the referral show up on your profile page before, or did you refer him in January but he just recently signed up? Because the referred person has to buy the minimum bundle of credits within 14 days of signing up using your referral link. It's also a one time deal, so subsequent purchases don't count. That's why I said it wouldn't have been a referral from january.

Yingyang,

I don't know who this referral is (his name doesn't give me a clue), but his profile says he's been a member since January (he has no photos, so I assume he would be a buyer).

I haven't paid attention before on that part of my profile, so I don't know how long it has been there.  If there is this 14-day limit, it wouldn't apply to him (unless there was some delay about this purchase and my being credited).

Well, nevermind.  It's good enough to have those US$10.  :)

Adelaide

I've been getting a bunch of referrals lately myself.  Wonder where they are all coming from?

This is interesting as I noticed lately that I had two referrals  ( did not notice the payment but the names on my members page ) and cannot for the life of me remember referring anyone to istock  :o Shutterstock Yes but not istock  ;)

I read in the forum that it could be links from our photos used in the Vox blogs.  Can't find anything of mine there though.
