Until they have sorted out all bugs, etc, is there any point in uploading? at the moment I find that releases are just dissapearing into the blue, the quality of reviewing is worse then ever and sometimes the interface just cuts out. Problems beyond belief really.

I have been uploading for three weeks, weak sales, slow review times and so much bad press leaves me feeling like it is a waste.  Only hope and the fact that if I don't use my 18 uploads, I lose them-keeps me uploading.

I stopped uploading in September 2010 and I don't miss it.  Istock always took more of my time than the other sites, I'm not interested in a lousy 17% commission.  Unless they are sold off and new owners make some big improvements, I can't see me uploading there again.

I've been uploading and getting sales on newly uploaded images, so in short, yes.  I have 24 in the queue now and expect acceptance/rejection to start today.

My new uploads have also been selling within a short time of acceptance. The colour space bug seems to be fixed, inspection time has been a little slow recently but quality is as usual  :) I can't personally see any reason not to upload ( and if I hadn't uploaded I'd have missed out on the sales that my new uploads are getting. But, as ever, your milage may vary)

I took time off to send my 5D to Canon for sensor cleaning but now back at it. Still a long way to go to make some impact but iStock is where the buyers are IMO. Just shut down my Dreamstime and SS accounts and submitted for IS exclusive. SO, yeah, I'm in it for the long haul

If you want to see your new files at the back of the search the answer is yes, else no point in uploading.
Hope they fix this best match mess soon, if they dont, and this is how they want it, I will have no choice but to move to greener!? meadows.

Gosh - unusual choice these days.
Good luck!

Too many hoops, and 17% is insulting.  Life is short.

Very True. But my DT, BS, FT, GVO, and SS accounts were dogs. IS beats them all. Speaking of hoops, I just submitted to IS to go exclusive and thought all my images were off of SS since I opted-out. Well IS found some and now has me waiting another 90 days before i can reapply.

Really Sucks

No. Yes. Maybe.

Sales have fallen off a cliff, new RF files get lost and don't sell, Editorial (165 images) aren't selling so I personally see little to no value uploading to iStock. The growth they promised was a joke and the site is a disaster. I feel Getty owned content is getting preferential search position putting the rest of us at a disadvantage. After 5 years with iStock and achieving Diamond level, I am ready to throw in the towel. There is no future at iStock!

By not uploading you only hurt yourself, nobody else. The agencies dont care, they can replace anyone tomorrow, nobody and I mean nobody is infallable, ( did I spell taht right)?

I'm glad that you guys are not uploading. Keep the competition at a lower level ;).
Go to go now to upload some more :)

Some people are uploading. The queue is at 93319, but seems to be at a standstill. None of my uploads have been even 'locked for inspection' for well over 36 hours now, other than a 'stuck and released-by-Support' one from the 6th.

Good for you! I personally am not willing to accept 17c or less as payment. No doubt when the contributors' royalty is at 5c or less, there will STILL be people uploading and willing to take that money, but hey, cuts down on the competition, right?  ;)

I don't see that not uploading at IS and uploading to other sites that pay more money per DL is hurting myself. I see that as a wise business decision. Normally, when I close one door, no matter how painful it is to do at first, the resulting open door is a lot more beneficial and profitable in the long run. I consider it all a blessing in disguise.  :)

It's infallible, but I wouldn't have pointed it out if you hadn't asked ;)

I think it is a very individualized decision as to whether we hurt ourselves or not by uploading to any particular site.  Some feel more hurt by their treatment at Istock, so by not uploading they feel relief.

I am still uploading to Istock, ATM, but if they can't get the site secured, and if it becomes a regular thing to have images stolen and money taken back, I would probably have to pull the plug.  I don't kid myself that they will miss me, but at some point it isn't about whether or not you will be missed, but what you are willing to tolerate.

Same here. Still uploading but patience is running really low. At some point (which could be very close) it just won't be worth my time and efforts. There is only so much abuse you can take for money... as my previous corporate bosses had to learn. Actually they were genuinely surprised when I resigned - somehow these people think that employees will take crap forever, just because they have mortgages and kids. I think same story will happen here - if Istock continues with their crap, many talented people will stop uploading - they can save time and earn money somewhere else where they are treated decently. I am pretty sure that will surprise the Istock bosses, too. Some other people will stay and keep getting screwed and accept it as a way of life. Not me.

Thanks! now I got the spelling right! you know Ive spent 23 years living in London and you never learn the grammer or spelling but you become a master of slang and everyday talks so I appreciate any corrections!

Yes I am uploading as well, cant see the point not to and i am actually having a pretty good month, in spite of all troubles.

best. Chris

Absolutely: iStock, sadly, is not infallible and we, sadly, are not indispensible. ;-)

I would like to point out that iStock is also not indispensible... ;-) Works both way, right?

+1.  And they have been working feverishly for months to make themselves as "dispensible" as possible ;)
