Went to look at content statistics and nothing there so figure to check royalties and August is there already. Not a bad or great month, pretty average as per the chart....

I had looked at the content statistics and didn't bother to go check the royalties until I read your post.

Overall I was pleased to see growth over July. I can't compare with August 2022 as I only just updated my portfolio at iStock in June after nearly a decade where I had only 100 files from an iStockalypse there.

.03 cent royalties for some sales balanced out by larger ones - the biggest a $56.25 RF royalty.  I'll take a more detailed look tomorrow (when I'm more awake!)

Edited 16 Sep to add: I'm glad to see a 28% increase in downloads (Jul to Aug) which is I assume the new portfolio finding its feet. June to July had seen 43% growth but I was still adding images.
Income rose 45% from July to August, but the big royalty skewed that a bit.

Looking at the RPD, it at first glance appears similar to Adobe Stock - 71 for iStock vs 74 for Adobe Stock. However, the minimum royalty on Adobe Stock is 33 (and there was only one of those in August) versus 2 on iStock. Looking at the number of royalties 10 or less on iStock in August there were 79! For a grand total of $3.89. Even less appealing than that, the quantity of sub-10 downloads grew at nearly twice the rate of downloads overall (Jul to Aug).

I'll hold my nose over the lowball royalties as long as the quantity at $10+ keeps hanging in there...

2nd best month ever for me. I am always pleased to see istock getting close to AS, SS and being strong number 3. It is amusing to see how photo of the eczema on wrist of my gf sells every month multiple times, and it is always in South Korea, and always for 0.04 or 0.03 cents  ;D

If only my port was 4-5 times bigger, on all agencies... I would be freaking independent!

Last year istock was even my no.1 bestselling agency for multiple months!
Sadly it's not keeping up for me this year, Not even 1/3 of my Adobe earnings and a bit less than SS this month and pretty constant for the past 4 months.

Same here, in my case 10 times more and I would be back to a comfortable full time income.

i truly regret not uploading for 10 years. Biggest financial mistake ever.

income August: 42,23 a little better than last month. Still low for 4400 files, but last month I didnt upload anything.

I think I will need at least 1200 files to activate my old port.

But istock still sells some very old files and in some searches my files are still on the first page and sometimes even the first image.

It is good to see steady growth since I restarted uploading to iStock. I was a video exclusive from 2008 to 2014. (Those were the good times!) I would not go back to video exclusivity there because these days they sell videos too cheap for the kind of animation work I do, and also because Adobe video sales are very good right now, but I am thinking about Photo exclusivity. A couple of years ago I got very interested in making fractal art, and although this is not the typical sort of image that iStock/ Getty is known for (I think they mostly sell people and lifestyle stuff), my image portfolio of mostly fractals, plus 3D renders, particle effects, creative coding, and a few vectors and camera photos, is doing great on iS/Getty compared to AS (where it's getting drowned out by AI) stuff, and also compared to SS (where the download numbers are good but the RPD is lower).

But anyway, here's the thing that I'm confused about: On iStock I have to submit my fractals etc as Photos, but on other sites I have to submit them as Illustrations. So to go Exclusive, I would choose Photo Exclusivity but stay as Non-exclusive for Illustrations, and I haven't found anything in the Exclusivity agreement that would prevent me from having an Illustration portfolio elsewhere which would essentially also contain fractals etc. So my thoughts are to 1. Keep my vectors on all sites as non-exclusive, 2. Delete my camera photos from other sites and only have them on iStock, 3. delete all fractals, 3D and other digital renders that are in my iStock portfolio from other sites but 4. I can keep an Illustration portfolio of fractals, 3D and other digital renders on other sites so long as those images are not on iStock as Photos. But maybe they would want me to remove all digital renders from all sites? I guess it's best that I ask ask iStock support about this, just writing this here in case anyone has any experience with this type of situation.
