Many colleagues are reporting failed uploads by DeepMeta and also on the official IS forum seems other people report the same.

The problematic thing is that administrator Slobo declared "I would say that support for third party software is far down on iStock's priority list. Besides, it kills the queue. So, from iStockphoto's perspective it only brings good, no need to rush.".

Is this meaning that we have to come back to the cumbersome and time-consuming web upload?
Is that a move by IS to clear the approval queue?

What do u think?

I am sure I am suspending my uploads until they fix the communication with DM. Well, if you ask me they shouldn't just give a full-scale support to DM but they should buy it and make it to the official upload client of IS... and yes, they should employ Franky with a high enough salary. I simply do not understand why they depend so much on a 3rd party software.

Completely agree on that!

they should buy it and make it to the official upload client of IS... and yes, they should employ Franky with a high enough salary.

As alternative I think they have enough financial and programming resources to develop a standalone sw tool for MAC/PC able to compute some basic analysis on your own portfolio performance.

I've been having problems uploading model releases for the past couple of months.  They either don't get attached, or the file gets corrupted in transit.

I've been using version 1.3.2 and haven't had any problems lately with MRs or uploads, but the last time I submitted was about 4 days ago.  I don't know if anything has changed since then.

Hehe. I have an idea for next years April Fools day.

ETA: We are working on the issues, folks. Bear with us. If you are experiencing anything that hasn't yet been reported please feel free to post in the iStock Forums.

If these problems exist just for the last few hours and did not come after a DM upgrade, I would assume that this is a pure iStock API / server side issue.
iStock probably can fix it fast if they give it some priority

Well... beta is a testing phase where a lot of people are using the program but there still may be issues... many of the bugs are worked out during alpha testing (which comes before beta, just like in the greek alphabet) and is usually a smaller more controlled group.

Looks like Mac users = guinea pigs in this case. And no, I won't be putting alpha version on my computers either. (Though I am glad to hear the project is progressing.) ;)

I dont say anything bad about counting letters or numbers. I only want to see final version without any prefikses or sufixses or any kind of )))&%%'(&$($))$ version involved...
Only I and other uploaders need Fckin Final version.

I was trying to explain what alpha version meant. Sorry if I mistook your insult for a question, there were a couple of words I couldn't quite make out.

Is this mean Vetta is better than Betta?  ;D

So I'm just wondering where everyone is on this now...another month later.

I just tried to upload to IS and it didn't read my metadata. I went over to the DeepMeta site...pondering the download. I see that its still a Beta version for Mac and you have to install Mono Framework for Mac before you can even install the Deep Meta software.

Has anyone bit the bullet and installed Deep Meta for Mac in the last month? Or are you still uploading one by one from IS site?

iStock was offline for a bit, should be back.
DM works fine for me now.

edit: I'm going to start a new thread, as my comments are really separate from DeepMeta not uploading
