How'd you notice this guy with only 16 images on IS?

Could not pass by the images stolen from Mark Evans.
-
Unbelievable what these scumbags think they can get away with.
-
You wonder why the OP can find these infringements and agencies dont, or dont care. They need to hire people like stvagna permanently to find infringements.
-
Do you think these guys are criminal or just stupid? I think many stupid guys dont know what they are doing. It`s called royalty free- that`s a problem i think. Maybe these guys are only a few people and try to earn money with many accounts. If there is only 1 payment for 10 accounts they win. This topic makes me angry.

It's a shame iStock did not terminate this scumbag account.
Looks like iStock is fine with selling stolen works. >:(
-
Umm... you can actually buy a license on PSDgraphics for commercial use http://www.psdgraphics.com/commercial-use/ (http://www.psdgraphics.com/commercial-use/)
I'm not sure if that includes reselling (after slight edits).

Looks like iStock and Dreamstime have deleted his portfolio.
Still waiting on Fotolia, Shutterstock, and Bigstock.

Good. Mark was one of the early heroes of iStock, back in the days before all the s.h.i.t.e. happened with the sites. He deserves respect. (Funny thing is, the first time I came across him, in the summre of 04, was when he falsely accused me of copying something he had done - but he subsequently realised that it was coincidence, not plagiarism and offered me a beer).

They could be based on the scripted pattern trees you get in Photoshop (e.g. CS5. Can't find them in CC2014). Maybe.

Ok, so all three of those contributors could make the exact same tree from the scripted pattern? I can't try it on CS5 but wouldn't the script normally do some randomizing?

Possibly, but when I discovered it in a tutorial and tried it out, my example looked like the one on the tutorial.
I don't know for sure and can't be bothered to haul out CS5 to check.
Or it could be copied of course.
-
Ha, right, I couldn't find it in CS5.
It was in CC, (but not in the same place in CC2014).
So I now understand why mine looked the same as the tutorial. :-[ I'd have been using the same settings as the tutor. I couldn't remember doing it, I just tried it because I was so agog that the trees were in there.
So you are totally correct. Unless they used one of the defaut trees, they wouldn't come up with exactly the same shape.

Has anyone notified Shutterstock/Bigstock and Fotolia about this yet? I know Shutterstock reads the forums so I would guess they've seen this already. It's been a week since it was reported but still no action.
-
Maybe it should be posted on the SS / Fotolia forums for them to see it.
Unless someone contacts them directly.
I don't know how they react to random people contacting them.
iS needs it to be the person whose images have been copied, or did a few years back when I reported one from someone else.
-
Nearly 2 weeks now and the images are still on Shutterstock, Bigstock, and Fotolia. Has anyone notified them yet?
