Wow, how did you find a crop of a reversed image comped over another image?

Do these sites check you when you join uo?
If so,  this guy could be into much more than image theft.

I don't know how he does it but three cheers for stvagna. Every little bit of exposing these crooks helps. I am not a illustration contributor but it still makes me feel good when these people are exposed.

You mean anti-money laundering tax interview?

I was thinking more of faking passports or identity cards. That's why I asked about whether these agencies checked when you signed up. I had to send a passport page to iS, but I don't know how the others work.
Still, you have a point. We had to provide our tax details for Getty. Oh, maybe not if we agrred to pay US tax. (?)
So - an intriguing story we're unlikely to find out about.

how would that person be able to use a fake passport or maybe an old person's passport
etc??? when they get paid, it would have to go into that account too, right???

what i saying is, perharps, that person uses his/her grandma's or old unknowing tenant's passport
to join. but when we get paid, it goes to our registered name's account.

unless like implicated, it is some kind of money-laundering scheme. if so, it will be obvious if
that person is receiving tons of dls each month.

whichever whatever, this looks like a job for stvagna the pink panther  8)

There is a good probability that if s/he gets their port closed, they won't get money.
However, whether the actual artists will get their due share of their work which has sold from their port, I'm not so sure. Maybe they'd need to pursue that themselves, which might be a downside of fast takedowns.

Presumably this issue applies equally to all the sites they were on, not just iS.

i am not sure how they are going to get the money already paid to the fraud artist.
if they are in the same country as the agency ,  i can see that possible.
but say if the fraud artist is in a foreign land , say nigeria or vietnam or philipines ,
and istock being in canada, i can't see this going anywhere.
that's why fraud cases even via telemarketing, etc never get charged and served...
nigerian fraud especially.

It's true, they probably won't get any money which has already been paid out.
I just meant that they may not get their next payout, as I was only referencing Karen's post.
From iStock's contract:
"Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, iStock is entitled to set-off against any amount owing to Supplier, all amounts to which iStock is or may be entitled under this Agreement or otherwise at law, including withholding amounts as security for any pending or threatened claim relating to any matter which is the subject of a representation, warranty or indemnity of Supplier under this Agreement."
I'd still like to think that somehow the ripped-off artists would be paid, but ...

Omendrive seems to have gone from iStock. I'm not certain because I'm either getting a blank page or a 'bad gateway' error rather than having a profile page but no files accessible, but I can access other people's homepages, so it seems likely they're gone.

so the dude/duda is gone from is. bravo to stvagna
maybe stvagna should start a new sideline ...

S/he may be back under some other username.  We better watch out. Stock agencies have zillions of images... The agencies are not too interested in exposing a thief. After all it is not their work.

Well done stvagna for exposing this thief!! 👍👍👍

Anyone knows how to find such thieves? It would be great if stvagna can give us some hints.
