Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere, but I'm just getting back into stock photography after a year long hiatus and am trying to make sense of ESP and all the other changes.

1) Are Getty stats reflected in Deep Meta? I didn't see anything in the stats that indicated any Getty sales.
2) Are the stats in Deep Meta pretty much what we got before the switch to ESP?

Yes, I have DM3. So if it doesn't reflect what we got before the switch to ESP, then what am I looking at? What's not included?

I don't use it much, and I may not have the latest version, but off the top of my head one thing I haven't been able to do is to check a certain keyword and instantly see how much images with that keyword has earned.

Welcome back

The old stats from the iStock site are no longer accessible, so DeepMeta cannot access them.
Instead, the new ESP servers provide monthly "Royalty Statements", which are very detailed. So that's an improvement.
DeepMeta automatically downloads these statements, and shows them in the "Statements", "Sales" and "Stats" sections.
Unfortunately, these statements only report sales starting from Feb 2017. So that's what we have to work with.

If you've used DeepMeta 2 in the past, you can import that sales data in the new DeepMeta 3 version, and can see Downloads/Royalties in the Files list (clicking page 3, on the page 1-2-3 selector at the top of the file list).

The latest versions of DeepMeta have a "Keywords" section, showing all keywords used in your portfolio, along with royalties, downloads, RPD, RPI, etc. You can sort by these columns as well, revealing your top selling keywords.

Thanks for the quick response, Franky! Just so I'm clear... in Deep Meta, the Getty Sales aren't shown but all other sales are?

What do the asterisks next to some keywords mean?

IPTC data not working with newest version (and one version before it)

Just checked the latest version to be sure, but all is working ok, and IPTC imports properly.

One reason could be that you're not properly logged in. DeepMeta needs to contact the ESP servers to lookup the Getty vocabulary for imported keywords. If that fails, the keywords are not imported.

Open "Preferences" in DeepMeta and click the "Verify" button under your credentials. If it fails, correct your username/password.

Hi Franky

Your DeepMeta is great tool so thank you for it. Using only that for submitting to IS(Getty)

I clicked Verify and it say "Login OK" so it wasn't that.

Few things other then this problem what I started to like less or dislike in newer version (it was working fine few weeks ago):

For example... when I put two keywords (full length, full body) it automatically recognized "full length" and its stayed like that now, but other keyword (full body) there was an option "full body isolated" now it only recognized it as another "full length" (and it's grayed because I already have that word) and no other options. So I have to manually write "full body isolated" for every picture.

One more example... also 2 keywords (latin, latino) first is always recognized as ethnicity and for second word (latino) there were several options (I had choose Latin American dancing) now that option is also gone.

Those are only 2 examples but with every newer version there are more and more needs to write words manually and less options to select from keywords examples. I hope it will go back as it was because it was faster and easier.

The change in keyword suggestions was a decision from iStock/Getty, and it affects DeepMeta as well.

Here's what was announced on Jan 25 by Getty:

Improving keyword quality – changes to how ESP autocompletes keywords

We have been looking closely at keywording quality, which is an important part of making it easy for customers to find and license your imagery. One improvement we are making is a change to the way the keyword autocomplete system works.

How does it currently work?
When you type a keyword during the submission process the autocomplete system returns three types of words: matches (which includes exact matches AND synonyms), words that start with the entered keyword, and words that contain the entered keyword.

How will it work when the change is implemented?
When you type a keyword, the autocomplete system will now return only matches (which includes exact matches AND synonyms). As a result, you may see a shorter, more targeted list of suggested keywords.

Where will this change be visible?
This change should be visible on the ESP website and in third‑party tools that communicate with ESP using our official API.

When is this happening?
This change will go live in the next few days.

We expect this change to greatly reduce the risk presented by unintended use of the keywording autocomplete lists and should have a very minimal impact on how you keyword your images.

Just go to the keywords section in DeepMeta, by clicking the "Keywords" entry in the left hand menu.
You'll get a list of all keywords used by your files, along with total downloads, royalties, RPD, etc. summed for all the files that use this keyword.
Click the column headers to sort by whatever criterion you like.
