When you finish their UL process that feels something like between painstick torture and denailing and then you are all of a sudden, after you click proceed, logged out and have to reupload :o . It's happened so many times to me, it's unbelievable. And never ever at any other site. I can't believe they have the nerve to top that UL process that makes you sweat, piss blood and punch the wall at the same time, with such a glitch?!? Unbelievable!

Using DeepMeta would eliminate almost all your frustration.

Tried it, not much of a difference. You still have to check 50+ boxes and it's just the same if I manually c/p CVed keywords instead of DM applying it to all the similar files. The fact is that DM is utter crap compared to most sites, especially those with just FTP UL that need just a click on two on the site afterward (process files and submit).

But still, tnx for the suggestion, you couldn't have known that I've tried it (and hated it since it's not much better than ULing on the site) and of course as an exclusive, you can't really know what a relief it is ULing to other sites after you've uploaded a batch to IS.

That being said, it was just a vent with some joking added (I'm sure some wouldn't get it or at least see it that way, thus a disclaimer is needed;)

Well, yes, the CV is the rod that iStock makes for our backs, for better or worse. No getting around ticking those boxes one way or another.

DeepMeta would at least resolve your problem of random logouts aborting uploads.

I had the same experience back when I used to upload to IS.

What's your favorite sites to upload these days? I find SS almost as bad as IS, but at least IS has plugins for various programs.

Best are DP and FT I think.

Wow, what?!? :o SS has the best batch editor. It's the best way if you have to choose categories. It's even better if there are no categories to choose, but only newer (and smaller) agencies have evolved so far. FT OTOH is just terrible, you have to finish the UL process one by one, attach MRs one by one, even click to add IPTC data. I'd say only IS is worse, because of the CV, log outs etc. DP is good, but you still have to choose categories and finish the process one by on. CS is best, I think, only upload, attach the MRs via the MR manager and that's it. But sites like DP, CS are a loss of time (even though they consume less time than most sites), the return is just pathetic 1-2% of SS makes. So I dropped them all

Well as far as I'm concerned, I need to get used to SS, I'm new there. But they rejected a batch of photos for very strange reasons. Mostly that the focus was incorrect or in the wrong place. But if I photograph a model using the rule of thirds I will still keep her eyes in focus. If SS wants me to focus in the center of the image then there is something wrong with them. Those are my top selling images somewhere else. So I stopped taking SS seriously after that. Maybe they have automated photo inspection.

Are you serious?  ??? Automated inspection?

Maybe post some examples of the rejections for people here to see what you are talking about.

SS, close followed by FT and DT, are far superior in uploading. Others are DP and CS.

The IS, uploading is antique, but thats not what ruins it, its the CV, which is extremely limited.

UL to IS FT is terrible. I like those who don't offer categories like 123rf and CS (though no more UL to CS and probably not even to 123rf from the near future) or least /simplified categories eg- SS. If one is exclusive he/she can deal with complicated UL process but for non exclusives like me UL to IS/FT/DP... most terrible.

IS and FL are the worst, IS for obvious reasons (disambigu-bloody-ation) and FL because of having to move the most relevant kws to the top plus most un-intuitive categories list ever.
