I joined the "8 Cent Club" today!
Me too.  I don't usually look at the price an image sells for but as it was the first sale on new upload which is a favourite image of mine I had a look only to find it had sold for 8c. I wish that I hadn't looked now!!!

How can this be?  Look like diamond level from the dial, possibly even exclusive.  Surely you must be on a higher %.  Does this mean us lowly peons can look forward getting even less than 8c?  :'(
I'm pretty sure the lowest royalty for a base level exclusive is 46 cents and 6 or 7 cents for independents depending on how the numbers are rounded.
Do we know the actual 'lowest credit value'?
Not for sure but that's the lowest I've heard of.  Looking through my lowest sales for the last 30 days I found about 4 sales for 65 or 66 cents per credit but nothing lower.
I had an EL for $12 (75 credits), so if it was XS, it was 50c per credit, and if L it was 44c.

Worse still, I just had a Vetta/Getty sale in from June, which netted me $1.19.

Last week I had my third 8 cent sale.  I just laugh now.  Not much I can do about it but practice a little forced humility.

I think they last forever, until they are used up by the buyers. I am just glad it isn't too frequent of an occurrence.

I'm getting them almost every day this past few weeks.

It's blindingly obvious that they've discounted credits to 50c to some large buyer or other and these are current credits, not 2004 ones.

The corporate accounts page:  http://www.istockphoto.com/corporate-accounts.php  credits on there are posted as being as low as 24 cents although I've still never seen one lower than 46 cents.

24c is for corporate subs; the lowest posted payg price on that page is $1.04.
However, on this page, http://www.istockphoto.com/help/buy-credits, 29c is offered for corporate payg and lowest 'ordinary' payg is posted as 95c.
They don't even have the same minimum price on two different pages of their own site!

(If anybody wondered what "all the corporate perks" are, don't bother: the link just takes you to a pricing table. No other 'perks', sorta like the current exclusive 'perks'.)

If anybody imagines that iStock will announce the super-mega-discounts it might offer to a million dollar customer then they are living in cloudcuckooland.

As soon as it announces "corporate special, only 50c a credit" every half-baked corporation will be screaming for the same deal.

However, the increasing incidence of these 8c commissions = to 50c credits makes it perfectly clear that new ones are being issued at that price.

Remember how the 10c sales faded to nothing over the years? Suddenly they come back again - and we are supposed to believe this is just as a result of lots and lots of people suddenly turning up ancient accounts with credits on them that they had forgotten about.

Yeah, righhhhttttt.... you believe that if you wish to.

On top of getting this 8c sales almost every day (and they're always in XS size) there's the indie price decrease. It really looks like they're taking a lot of, especially when you think about constant price rises, "last resort" actions. If I remember correctly E+ prices went down as well. Combine it with earnings threads and it really looks like their business is nosediving in the last few months.
