Title: Exclusive+
Post by: jsmithzz on May 03, 2011, 23:23
I've seen some posts in the forums about people who've removed all their files from E+ recently and been happy with the decision. It seems that there may never be a best match boost for E+ as hinted at when E+ first rolled out as that question still goes unanswered.  One thing I have noticed though is the files that have lots of Vetta and Agency competition are doing much better now than before the best match shift.

With all that said, it seems that a lot of customers are rejecting Vetta/Agency files in favor of cheaper files.  Was curious as to who has made a conscious decision to remove the E+ designation from their files and what the outcome was? Only about 5% of my files are E+ currently, but I'm thinking of ditching E+ in favor of steadier DL's.

We have had bad experience with the E+
Some files have stopped selling all together, and the ones that haven't had less sells but more revenue (not much though).
Fewer sells means a few more things:
1. More time before you get to a higher canister level (still important for some people, me included).
2. Less sells = worse best match placement.

We now have no files in E+ at all.
IMO it is worth if only if your photo is TRULY unique and doesn't have much competition.

I just have made a calculation of my last 300 dl's.

Regular files  x files sold for every 100 files available as regular exclusive.

E+: 1.82x for every 100 E+ files available.

That said, E+ files usually are better files (in my collection) than regular ones.

Vetta and Agency files have considerable higher results, but maybe that's distorted by the fact that I don't have so many files in this collections compared with my portfolio size.

Loop, thanks that's interesting to know.

Aeonf - I agree that the files should be really unique.  In the beginning I put my best seller into the E+ collection and sales stopped on that file cold turkey when it used to get at least 3-4 sales per day.  I put it back into the main collection, and now sales are back up. Just noticed the new E+ thread that popped up too in the forums that's been an interesting read.
