Shank meet Stacey, Stacey meet Shank, a perfect couple, hope you have a nice life together.

I can't defend Shank's posts here (sorry Shank), but he has a heart of gold so I'll take your comment as a compliment even though it was meant as an unprovoked kindergarten insult. maybe you should spend your time more wisely improving your 'snappy' stock rather than going out of your way to insult members of a community you don't even belong to.

Can someone enlighten me on the reason that Istockphoto introduced this extra price tier.

Cock Up 1- "We are sorry your file did not make it into our sexy Vetta collection but we hope it screws some more money out of the buyers by entering the Exclusive + collection"

Cock Up 2 - "We have decided that you the talented artist are best at managing your own portfolios and can nominate a % quota of your portfolio to add to this new collection "

Cock Up 3- "Non exclusives are now allowed to screw more money from the buyers by nominating files for the exclusive +
collection "
Just scrap the collection. It stinks !!!!

My answer to today's "Random Shank IMO" post.  If any increase is "screwing more money out of the buyers", maybe you should just go put your stuff on a free site somewhere.

I do have some unique work that would sell in the exclusive + collection but that's not the point i'm raising.
Most contributors just see it as an easy option, gifted to them by Istockphoto, to make more money from there work and give buyers less content from there credit bundles.
Yachts are so yesterday.A magic carpet to Milan is on my wish list.

Shank,

Please stop this game of playing with people here, you are a self confused hobbyist with a large portfolio with limited success. Respect this forum please.

I feel that you are milking the good will here. Ego?

oh come on. I mean, I certainly wish Shank would post more carefully, for his own sake if not for everyone else's, but you're taking yourself and this forum a little too seriously. a large percentage of what gets posted here is BS on a normal day. ignore him if you so please and don't reply. but your plea is almost farcical and unnecessary. leave him alone.

It would be unprofessional to use the wrong keywords, but most of us already knew that. Your point was ... ?

What I would want is to know what Shank's problem is, since I don't see a point of this thread and it's confusing at the same time since he's not  up to IS for once (well he is in a few posts but, the thread as a whole is going the other way). Are you really going through all this lenghts to get unbanned on IS?

And I'd like to hear ShadySue say burglar alarm (hint yesterday's top gear;)

I go to John Lewis, Debenhams, Frasers, woteva and there are lots of goods keyworded 'blue', 'denim' and 'jeans' at vastly different prices from 'own brand' to 'designer'.  The 'designer' jeans aren't necessarily better fitting or harder wearing than the 'own brand'.  It's a model people are very used to in the real world.
Since you feel so strongly about it, why not do the buyers a real favour and become independent and your prices will automatically drop down.
Hint: if buyers don't think a file doesn't 'deserve' to be in a higher price tier, they won't buy it, if they can find what they need cheaper. Just like at John Lewis.

I guess we're on different episodes of TG. Yesterday they were using a Jaguar to pull a string of caravans along a railway line to illustrate how trains could/should be cheaper. (But now that I think about it, I missed the beginning of the prog.)

No, we're on the same one, they were talking again how Germans, no matter how perfect their English is can say squirrel properly and than wanted to do another test and asked the audience if there are any Glasgowegians among them, one stepped forward and they asked him to say burglar alarm. Of course they laughed their asses off when he went burrr-glarr alarrrm :D. And Hammond tried to imitate him a couple of times, almost got it right (he's better speaking hillbilly or redneck whichever you prefer). Check out the rerun, although you'll hear nothing new, just say it loud ;)

As an amateur/hobbyist it is only natural for you to not be concerned about making money from your work. Professionals naturally have a completely different opinion.

Also, your constant sweeping statements such as "most contributors" prevents me from taking you at all seriously. Shank, I think you are a bit of a crap-stirrer, and I presume that many of your gazillion posts are really not your opinions, but just ways of getting some much desired attention?

Oh, I did see that near the end. My accent is even worse as I have a burr (can't say my Rs properly, think Jonathan Ross if you've ever heard of him). I suspect it was the alarrrum bit they were laughing at. There's a name for that in phonetics, but I can't remember it - putting unaccented vowels between consonants. We also say wurruld for world. But a lot of English say something between 'alam/alom' and between 'wuld/woald' without the 'r'.
I'm just back from Dublin and am getting my head round how we pronounce 'slainte' (as in slainte mhath) something like 'slanj' and the Irish seem to pronounce it something like 'slond'.

Almost as bad as having a Gael from Lewis trying to communicate with one from Harris.

On one side of the hill a table is a "vord" on the other side it is a "voorshd"
