I just experienced that all Forums at iStockphoto.com are closed ... does anybody know what´s going on there ...?

The team is moving a set of files between servers this afternoon. In order to make sure it goes smoothly they need to shut the forums off.

The forums will be down from 13:30 to 14:30 MST. (that's about an hour and a half from now) If there are any changes we will let you know here. Thanks everyone.

How shocking! Surely there must be some better way to notify people. Maybe an announcement in a random third party forum, perhaps.
 ;)

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought they moved the forums to a separate server that wasn't connected to the ones that hold the images.

Didn't they do that awhile back when the site was having all those problems and the angry octopus kept showing up with his apologies??  ;)

If they are not connected, maybe they just disabled them so they wouldn't have to read all the complaints when the site goes down...

They said "set of files" but as far as I can see, did not say anything about moving images. The server that houses the forums may not be a dedicated server?
