all these blog posts, articles, tweets etc are really going strong, I am proud of all the contributors sticking to this and do it in such a brilliant way without offending anybody, not that they don't deserve it ;D

I submitted a blurb to slashdot yesterday, but it didn't get enough traction to be accepted.  Perhaps someone else who has a better way with words could give it a try?

Yeah, never been part of such a revolution. I have seen them happening, about facebook, instagram, etc, but now to be part of it, is really something else.

Very good point Lisa.  Perhaps our efforts should be directed at letting buyers know.  I wonder what a two page spread in Photoshop users and Layers would cost.  Probably less than a law suit or starting a new site.

It's very unlikely that a major photoshop magazine would accept an advert attacking what is potentially one of their biggest customers. I presume Getty does advertise.

what I see from her experience is her income is half what it was as an istock exclusive with 5 times more work.  This is depressing and probably why getty felt they could abuse whoever they wanted.

Excellent blog Jo Ann!! Certainly like your analogy of us the contributors "Cinderella" versus Getty "the ugly sisters", very fitting, thank you. I have included your link on my site as well.

Thanks - I was thinking of naming Thinkstock and Photos.com as the ugly sisters, but decided against it :) Jonathan Klein is definitely the wicked stepmother though :)

Marina, known here as Sunnymars, is very active in promoting this D-Day protest.  She's created a facebook event here:

And a really effective graphic for anyone to place on their blogs, news stories, etc.

What an excellent find!! That graphic certainly gets the point across. I will update my blog with this, followed by a link of course.  Thank you Marina! and Lisa for finding this!

MacTribe tweeted about an interview with Jonathan Klein - including blurb about the award he received last year and the awful quote about protecting IP and contributor livelihoods. So I replied with a link to Sean's blog about the Google mess:
