I had a GI Connect sale (black bar in the IS stats graph) appear for Feb. I first noticed it a couple of weeks ago. Lobo says this is perfectly normal because ALL content, exclusive and independent is included in the GI Connect programme.

OK, fair enough, I thought. I didn't know that.

Now my February GI Connect bar has vanished - so my concern about why it was there and what it means has returned.

Are Inde images being sold on GI Connect or not? If they are, are they being reported? If they are not, how could a sale appear in my stats? Or are sales not being credited properly to the right people, was it someone else's sale that appeared in my stats? Or was it my sale properly recorded that has now been taken away when it should still be there? Are inde images being sold on Connect when they shouldn't be, and therefore not being recorded?

I have no idea of the answer to any of these questions. When I raised it in the first place, Lobo made a deal out of pointing out to everyone that it was only 23c, completely missing the point that it didn't matter whether it was 3c or $30,000, what mattered was whether we were receiving correct reports.

Since it has been taken away again, I presume his response was wrong when he said that everyone's files are meant to be in GI Connect, so it's pointless going to him for information.

Does anybody else know anything about this, or has anybody else seen black GI Connect lines mysteriously appear or disappear from their monthly stats graphs?

If support bothered to reply and it was a genuine problem concerning false reporting they would deny there was a problem and say it was all perfectly OK. So I really don't see the point in bothering them. I know what they will say, anyway.

Am I mistaken in this view?

Maybe you are and maybe you aren't but you won't know the answer till you contact support. Are you really concerned with bothering support?

Not really, I just have a complete lack of faith in them, but you're right, they should have the chance to explain.

Complete lack of faith - that's it. Explanations are substitute for trust - as someone said. With all this mess they should come with some independent audit. Now it looks that PP sales are decided by drawing lots, not mentioning these G+ mysteries.

There's information on GI Connect here - for what it's worth.

My understanding is that all content is available to GI Connect, and that it's some sort of pay-per-click advertising thingy, so yes, your images will potentially be on it. But don't expect to make much out if it.

As for the black bar appearing and then disappearing, there was a problem with GI Sales for Exclusives where they all got lumped in to a GI Connect payment for Feb/March (it varied) so some of us had some brief excitement when a couple of hundred dollars appeared for no obvious reason - but it was just an error, and when the GI Sales were reprocessed correctly it was taken away again.

All of which doesn't explain why your payment would have appeared and then gone away, as you're not Exclusive and presumably don't have any GI Sales. Anyway, GI Sales are normally rather more than that. But it could be related somehow.

I suspect we may never know...

Thanks for the link and the info as far as it goes. I don't think iS/Getty actually want to defraud us of anything that we have earned according to the terms but for obvious reasons I wonder if their IT/accounting side is still capable of getting things right.
My black bar is probably connected in some way with the PP and exclusive Getty payment c0ck-up.
