My sales have come to a virtual stop under the new best match 2.0, after a healthy March and early April.

Is it best match 2.0 or normal ups and downs?

Mine have been down all month so I doubt its related to best match.  Judging from the red all over the charts many people are experiencing the same.

I still think it is too soon to judge the new best match.  As far as I know it hasn't been mentioned that exclusivity is a factor in the revamp one way or another.

Same thing as usual, the buyers need to learn to use it and utilize it to their needs.  They will figure it out and sales will go back to a 'normal' level.  some will gain, others will lose a bit

Yep its a sea of red in the charts, and my results are reflecting this also. Day 1 was great - but after that its been looking pretty grim.

How many images do you have online? I would like to be able to put a figure to comment above.  Also, how many downloads do you have?

What bothers me the most is someone with 127 images and 42 downloads in an year complain that things are slow.  When were they ever fast? Seriously...

You can be assured that Holgs has far more than 127 images in any sites. Just checked, he has 968 files with IS.

how about some figures to back it up? how about everyone post some figures if they are going to say things are normal.  Because seriously, I'm sick of guessing if the post is a legitimate one or something from someone who just wants to post

That's why we have those speedometers below the avatars. Those that want, show them. Then we don't have to do the guessing.

It's interesting that you said that, my 15 and 16 were good, 17 was the start of the decline.

Seriously, Its not all about the Pros here.   What and when am I allowed to post without bothering someone?   All of us started with 1 picture...

around Nov 20 last year my sales crashed overnight going from around $40-$45 a day (averaged over a month) to around the $25 mark (7 days = about $140 then converted to $au = my rent :( )  (hence I will never go exclusive when that sort of thing happens).  Really a bit too early for me to say properly but since april 15 I seem to still be around $25 mark.

However there is a greater number of my older images / images with less downloads getting sales suddenly and they may or may not rise with the new best match. Personally I wouldn't complain if there is a greater mix of what sells rather than 10% of images making 90% of income.

we may all have started with one picture, but when you are still starting and have 40, 60, 100 pics, do you really think that getting one download last week and no downloads this week is a trend?  And what some people may scream about, others will just say its normal

Those little bars are lovely, but don't tell the story.  I'm not the admin, moderator or whatever, but for you to post and have a meaningful post, then say yeah, I'm getting on average 5 more downloads or 3 more dollars per day than pre-best match 2.0

Its not hard.  Back up statements with numbers.  Its expected everywhere else in the world, why not here?

I think I am doing ok. I have 886 images with iStock.  436 downloads in Jan, 427 in Feb, 519 in Mar and 332 so far in april. I am averaging $1.06 per download. To me BM2 does not seem to have an impact either way. It did get a little slower around easter brake but that's all. Denis

Ichiro@   I guess I have a more laid back attitude than u.   Maybe I get more serious when I get like * downloads/month

* (Whatever dl/month a pro have.)  ;)

I've just had the email for buyers from iStock explaining about BM2, presuming they send it out at the same time to all buyers I'd imagine we'll only now start to see the real effect.

I should have the first BME there in a year. Most things selling are the ones that used to sell before they screwed up the search last year.

I think it's too early for me to say, because I have been extremely lazy and haven't been shooting or uploading. I always notice a drop when I don't feed the beasts. I can say that I have not noticed any sharp decline. Fingers crossed...

I'm not exclusive and my sales are totally normal so far. I have a baby picture on the first and fourth page when searching for "baby"

This is a beautiful response.  I think that this is how it should be posted if you want to post that you are doing well/poorly compared to x weeks/months

Congrats on doing well so far Denis.

Doing fine for now. It's still early to judge, and my port is small for some serious statistics, but seems like I'm doing the same, or little better than before.

Does it affect us?

If anything, I noticed my images aren't on the last page anymore there on the second to last page now. ;D I'm having a great month, so I can't complain. But, I don't think the new best match has anything to do with it.

I would say the same for me.
