It seems that whenever I get close to 5,000 in my portfolio, istock swoops in and deletes a whole bunch of my images. How common is it for them to delete files ... this time I had about 4,910 images and overnight it changed to 4,710.

How common is it for them to do this?

i asked to have my display name changed and lost about a dozen files (out of a few hundred so a high percentage).  i messaged them about it and they restored most but it was a slog finding them and one was still missing so i just reuploaded.

Seems to be a problem with the server at the moment.

However, they seem to sometimes delete the odd one or two, for real or imagined copyright reasons, and emails aren't always sent.

OK ... so this is really strange. I just checked my portfolio after the day's update, and my number is up to 4,952. The 200 seem to be added back. wow

Probably a glitch in the system.

However, it is sort of shocking and actually demoralizing to see your portfolio reduced by 200 overnight with no explanation. Guess I've gotta be grateful it's fixed

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Yes,it is common practice for Istock to destroy people's years of work by accusing them of being thieves when in fact the real thieves are them who steal the time of people who spend years working on thousands of contents only to find themselves after years with nothing left or with much less content.

Now,until these things happen to you, always believe that it's the fault of others who somehow did something wrong, but is not so.

I suggest everyone pay close attention to Istock,I no longer work with them,I no longer trust them.

That may very well be, but in my case, as I state above, the 200 missing images miraculously appeared yesterday. Likely, the problem was a glitch in the system.

I'm sorry you have had such bad luck at istockphoto. And hope you have found a new home for your portfolio.

Never had it with IS, but on the subject of portfio glitches, I did have a similar thing with 123RF. A big chunk of my portfolio stopped displaying (broken links)... and they never solved the problem. Went from 4 figures/ month to low three figures, and stayed that way. So count yourself lucky I guess?

Thank you,and yes i am better now, because since i don t work anymore with Istock,i have much more time for AS,and my sales have improved a lot.

With Istock in the end I was still earning the same thing every month, after 2019/2020 sales dropped in the following years.

however their way of acting is really sleazy, they find excuses to justify their actions, and if necessary they change excuses too,the important thing for them is to do what they want, and with no respect for a person who has worked hard for years,no warning,no questions, nothing, just a sudden email that arrives in the middle of the night in which they tell you what they have already decided, covering it all up with trivial and lacking in imagination excuses.
