Hi all,

I'm new to this forum a nd a contributor to several microstock sites who have just been accepted to Istock. I became amazed when i found out that there was no FTP upload, nor any other easy way to do it.

So my question is, how do you upload to Istock ? or, What's the best way of getting your sent pics to Istock ?

Thanks

Hi fleitao, and welcome!

I upload one by one, but they have a plug-in, maybe someone else can help you regarding it.

Once a picture is uploaded, it still takes at least 10 minutes per picture to check all the keywords and create the categories.  Quite a burden when we compare this to the easy upload ride at other sites.

Fortunately, as a non-exclusive, the upload limit per week is 15, so it's a relief not to feel guilty to upload more... ;)

Hope this helps.

I don't upload any more either, just too much of a pain compared with ALL the other sites. I can upload to Fotolia, ShutterStock, BigStock, 123RF, Dreamstime,StockXpert, and Feature pics in less time than it takes to upload the same to IStock

The payoff is just not worth the effort, especially since the other sites are taking off.

you upload simultaneously by using Mozilla Firefox and opening a few tabs to upload. I do that sometimes but other times i just open a tab and do other things as i upload one by one....but then with 15 uploads and my low approval rate. its a slow process, but better than nothing cos my best sales is there followed by Shutterstock. So its worth it. i just got 100 uploads after 6 months.

You can download the software for Firefox at my blog if you cant find it. It also has some useful infor for new stock beginners as i was one too ;-)

One at a time...

Yes their process is painful compared to some of the others, but at this stage Istock is my best earner, so I'll continue with it.  You'll get wildly different reports on which is the best site to submit to due to the huge variation in portfolios we all have.

Having said that, SS almost beat IS for earnings last month, which is probably a sign of the times..

I don't use windows (linux) so I don't have the option of using their plugin tool..

Cheers, Me.

I have it working on Red Hat. The Mac OS X version is a java app.

100%.

iStock has made it extremely easy ... to simply skip UL'ing to them altogether. What could be easier?
