Hi, how to get off from iStock exclusivity?
I have deactivated my exclusivity in April 11, 2014.
Then, I get Congratulations from iStock, that administrators have RE-activated my exclusivity application?!
Today I have looked my status, and I am still exclusive contributor there :(
Perhaps I should create a ticket, but the answer will takes another 1-2 month if ever.
Does anyone know how to get off from iStock exclusivity?
Thank you for advice,
Kalevi

No seeing a problem. If you have done your bit and they haven't done theirs, not your problem. No harm to let them know you're starting to upload elsewhere having resigned exclusivity...
-
That happened to me, too. Must be some sort of bug. Contact support and they will help you out.

Funny thing, how the bugs always work for istock.
The important part, the legal part, is that you can prove you have sent them notice.
Do you have a screenshot of anything that proves the date? Then save it.
Send them a letter, the type that is signed when it is recieved. "I hereby (date) terminate my exclusivity with istock)"
If so, you are free to go and feel free in a free way.

This one could work for the OP, as she could be getting exclusive royalties until they fix it.

Yes definately.. Cool! Ha ha.
Then I would stick to the screenshot and keep it.

Yes, I have a screenshot, but without visible date on image, only in file information when shot was made. I guess it should be ok?

Do not play games or make assumptions. Contact support.

No games, no assumptions - if the OP resigned exclusivity in the prescribed manner he/she is entitled to do whatever suits with the work in question.

Right. Incompetence is not an excuse that prevents the OP from moving forward with their strategy if they are playing by the rules. I do believe that they should continue to work with CR to resolve the issue, but that should not be an impediment for the OP to move beyond IS.

The OP made it sound like support hadn't been contacted yet. I agree that the glitch is iStock's responsibility ... but when I was in the same situation I wanted to make sure I had my bases covered. Dropping exclusivity was a big enough risk on its own.

I agree completely. The OP should continue a responsible path with IS, but simply not be confined because of their system, etc.

Same thing happened here. I went through the link to end exclusivity, for a few days it was counting down the days until my exclusive status ended. Then all of a sudden the just acted like I had never requested. I emailed support immediately but of course I never heard from them.

No, I don't planning any games, I will contact to support and hold down upload somewhere where until things are clear with iStock. Just asking, perhaps there is some other faster way to clear this issue than contact to support where from answer may take 2 month.
Thanks,
Kalevi

Same thing here (I was Audio exclusive). I didn't contact support. I just clicked the cancel button again and waited the 30 days. Thankfully it went through ok the second time!!

Easily two months. You could consider posting in their help forum or contacting a Mod by SM. You should at least get an official confirmation yhat you're free to submit elsewhere - I'm sure this has come up before.
-
Well that is really unbelievable that they would make you go through the process a second time. We so need an international body to regulate these people. Their business practices are so unfair.
-
I feel strongly that if you gave them notice and have waited out that notice, you are free to upload elsewhere. But I can also see why you might be nervous to do that.

Oh god no, please. We would end up paying for their swanky downtown offices and they would probably require us to be licenced and regulated.
