For the first 3 months of the year my photo sales have been increasingly ramping up month by month until April. It has dropped like a stone. I am currently around a quarter of my March sales so far and it looks to stay the same. What is going on in IS ? I thought things were on the up.  :-\

You aren't the only one I've a 43% slump on sales compared to last month all the agencies seem to have slowed down (at least for me)  :'(

NO reason to imagine things are on the up there. After a rise in March (relative to Jan/Feb, not to previous Marches), April has been dire for me. I don't buy the Easter/Spring break theory, as previous Easter/Spring break dips were never as low, and this past week has been even worse than the first fortnight. Barring a good EL in the next couple of days, hahaha, this will be my new worst full exclusive month - I went exclusive in mid-August 2007.

Are we talking about $10, $100, $1000 or $10,000 per month ? Roughly.

Previously around the middle of that range, now much lower. Roughly.

Numbers have plummeted to about a third of March - but the numbers are so low that they are statistically insignificant.

Not sure why the OP thought things were 'on the up'...

It's harder to determine how a month is going at IS since you don't know what surprises await you with PP. My IS sales are "normal" with one EL wrapped into that comment. Take out the EL and I'm a little off. However, last month I got about $300 in PP (this includes everything pp has to offer (subs, gray bars, big chunk sales- large green bar spikes). This kicked me over $400 for the month, making it a normal month.  However, without PP I would have made the claim that the month sucked, but in the end it turned out okay.

I've said this before, once one of these goes away (TS or IS) we stand to lose a lot, relatively speaking. If IS is dissolved, TS is only a sub site and we lose all credit sales unless they integrate them in the same kind of manner as SS.  If PP goes away they would need to transfer customers to an attractive subs package in IS using whatever the hook is they use for TS today.  It's going to happen in my opinion. It has to be too costly to run two disparate sites, both of which offer subs.

The median of the range $10 - $10,000 is $5,500 $5,005

Nope, median is 550 (values 10, 100, 1000 and 10000).

H'mm I think a range doesn't have a median a range or group of numbers does. A range has a midpoint in this case $5,005.

I could be wrong I got into Mstock to get away from this stuff but while I'm here statistical significance relates to sample size and variation rather than absolute value :o

I propose that we begin a thorough discussion about exact median .
For me, is this the most important thing today.

My sales had already become weak and erratic averaging two or three a day but since the 15th they've fallen off a cliff and I'm now not even averaging one a day from 5,000 files - and they want us to keep uploading? And I'm a "diamond"-level contributor within a whisker of 57,000 sales (and more than 250,000 across eight or nine sites).

Because my sales for Jan/Feb/March were increasingly on the up. What else could I think ?

What?  jjneff is having a good month and someone gives him a minus . . . . that, at least, makes me laugh.

by the way, I'm having a good month also.

May I ask if this (your) slump is specific to IS? Reason I'm asking is because my April is terrible on all sites, even SS is struggling for me...

Happy that you had good sales for a while at least.

Sadly in my case. any short term increase is usually followed by a 'correction', so I am very wary of concluding that iStock in general has somehow reversed their historical trend.
