With the caveat that my numbers on iStock are statistically insignificant since I only have 120 files - 20 of which I added recently - I was not surprised to see that nearly all my sales this month are from images uploaded in 2011 when I joined iS - but the really interesting thing is that the one file that I sold that wasn't from 2011 is one I uploaded this month, which hasn't happened in ages for me there. My new work usually sits there month after month with 0 views.

Only an average month on DT after a steady climb upward.

Big jump in new file sales on SS which is a welcome change.

Nice month on Alamy, small sales on FAA, direct stock photo sales are strong.

Mine too. Only the first 3 months, when I joined istock were worse.

Oh, good, another thread on which I can complain!  ;D

I don't understand why, with April on iS being so terrible for nearly everyone, the poll results improved?

30 Apr: 35 / 198.3 (Indies / Exclusives)
03 May: 40.6 / 205.7

 ???

My own poll entry was 40% lower than the previous month. Clearly I have a huge influence.  ::)

Because the poll has no April real numbers, so people use March for their estimated income? That's my only guess. No one knows what their PP, Subs or GI sales are for April?  Just a guess. ???

If true, then May will show the April depression in income.

There have been at least a couple of posts on their near-moribund forums since the post.

Like many others I stopped posting on iStock forum long ago.  Lobo's censorship and Kelvinjay's censorship and snooping into our accounts make me sick.

Regarding current credit sales:

On Sep 4, kelvinjay wrote: "These changes have been made with the intention of ultimately increasing sales and earnings for everyone..." and later,  on Sep 17 he wrote: "In order to be successful, these changes must be accompanied by an increase in sales volume..."

And here we are, eight months after the new credit system was launched...
Isn't it obvious yet that it's been a complete fiasco?  There's no simply no light at the end of this tunnel.  It's just a dead end.

He's probably referring to this sort of snarky post that appeared from Kelvinjay on iS five minutes ago, indicating that moderators can (and do) access account details:

Am I missing something? Shouldn't payment be done at 25 of april? I still didn't get mine!?

Hi,
Yes, what you seem to be missing is that your balance wasn't over $100 on the last day of March, therefore you didn't get paid in April. We have a thread here explaining everything, please take a look
.

Worst month for 4 years. 5 zero days (very unusual to have one), hardly any SODs and ODs, no EL for 7 months. Something has to change.

I don't consider access to accounts a bad thing per se. They're sort of a support desk as well and closely working together with other departments (finance/accounting, dev team, etc). I don't like the snarky comment ("what you seem to be missing...") either, but that's typical of any company without morals.

Yeah, I've been pretty horrified by KelvinJay announcing to the entire world (public forum) the details of someone's account...sales, earnings, etc. ... If he disagrees with something they've said.

Fully agree with Shelma here.

I do think it matters Noedelhap. Would you like it if they published your earnings?

I'm a bit more ambivalent about this one.
Someone posts in a public forum that they haven't been paid. Looks bad, but in this case they weren't due to be paid.
Admin could remove the thread and explain the situation privately;  but removing the thread looks suspicious.
A 'better' solution might be to say "Check your sitemail" and hope that the person comes back to post "Thanks, sorry, my mistake", but often when they've done that in the past, the OP hasn't replied,  making it look as though they got some sort of  'silencing' email.
I suppose the 'best' solution might be to say, "Are you sure you had $100 in your account by (date), and show them how to check that.
OTOH, knowing that they can and will look into accounts lets us know that when people post about their worst month since whenever, it's true - else they'd be outed in a nanosecond.

I couldn't believe it and still can't. I imagine being out to lunch with colleagues, and someone complains about their bonus, and then the IT guy in the group sneeringly announces their salary and bonus to everyone there. And then you all realize this one guy knows everything about you and can look it up and make it public knowledge at any time. Creepy.

Ah, well  I was a teacher all of my wageslave days and the whole world can see the entire salary scale on the appropriate website, so I don't get incensed about that sort of thing.

Since Kelvinjay became a moderator, he got access to our private information.  On many occasions he has told how he checks our accounts just for "curiosity".  Every time anyone has criticized him on the forum, he has quickly deleted the posts.
He's one of those people who's made more harm than good to iStock.

I just sold my first EL on iStock. I know you don't care, but I just wanted to share my happiness with you. It grossed me 24.42$.

Anyway, what are the usual earnings from EL?
