I never said I made an error.

There is a good basic rule for posting on the internet: Read, Think, Post. Consider the first one for a change.

I never said I made an error.

Ok, noted. Someone did. You don't. Thanks for having that cleared up.

I guess this all brings up another point. IT folks aren't developers. In my world the two are separate. The developers create and the IT folks keep the hardware and software running. I assume IS lacks not only managements approval to update, they may lack decent developers as well. I am a developer in my day job. The Pp payments should be no more than an automated click or even a timed trigger. The system wasn't built to work with such things. Decent developers could still figure out a way to automate the process...like said before you not only need the developers, you need time and money.

I don't see any of the discussion being related to the actual announcement in this case.

The payment requests were not disabled due to technical issues but due to a wrong data import done with the Getty sales. That doesn't have any connection to the technical infrastructure nor the system.

Also, if they manage to work it out like they said in the announcement, no one is going to lose money nor time. Actually you get to wait until Friday to make the payout request you would have had to do on Monday if you are asking for PayPal, so you can include a few more days of sales in the same request.
Shill or fanboy?

Maybe just a realist. There is a number of things I don't like about iStock. But I try to keep it to the facts and not bash just for the purpose of bashing as many people around seem to do.

The more I read the more I start to believe there is a bloody great elephant in the room and IS are trying desperately to cover it up with a pot plant and a chintz tablecloth.

Isn't it depressing and hugely sad that every time IS write something, be it about technical issues, collection changes, pricing overhauls etc, contributors feel compelled to try and read between the lines - because we have lost all trust in our agents these past 2-3 years.

Yes. I keep wondering what they're up to with all the new work that never gets viewed.

They keep 85% of my sales, then try to hang on to my measly 15% as long as they possibly can?   From now until they decide to pay independents a decent commission (like that will ever happen), they get nothing but my SS rejects.  No quality control and 15% .....they are now my new recycle bin.

So did I. Three years ago. Haven't regretted it a minute.

This problem is a non sequitur. You see, I'd have to make enough to actually trigger the need for a pay request.

Is there any point uploading SS rejects there?  I'm not wasting time on their tedious upload procedure, unless I get really bored one day.  It isn't worth it for the little they pay, lack of sales for new images and the threat of more deals like the Google one.

Why are there still so many long threads about istock here?  Independents should of got the message by now, theyre a waste of time for us, we should forget about them and spend time with sites that have some respect for us.

Sorry people, it's my fault.

I closed my iS port a couple of weeks back and they have to send me my closing balance.

Keep us posted on that.  Will be interesting to see if they are actually capable of doing so.

It'll be another two months before they pay me. They have to wait for PP sales to go through the system.

I made a very large request for payment on June 22, no response yet (July 9).  I have not received any of the usual emails. ?????  It is simply stuck at "pending".

With a small port there I don't make payout that often, but it figures that as of last week I could request one - I don't really mind too much being paid a week later but it does make me nervous when something like this happens.

Maybe it's just that I get payouts from them regularly, but I prefer SS, every month when you make the minimum, you get paid. No request needed.

What's really scaring the he11 out of me is that I request every Friday.  I wasn't able to request last Friday.   However, the amount I will be requesting on this Thursday will be for almost two weeks, but is only barely reaching the dollar amount that I normally get in a week.
