This came and went and I just happened to have an example that told me something.

31/03/2015 3:41 PM MDT    XXLarge    Regular    $#.## USD

Wasn't there the 31st, or 1st wasn't there last night at 3AM - the 2nd. Just showed up this morning, along with a DL from today.

And what's the point. Besides taking 1 1/2 days to show up, the date and time is the actual download record, not the reporting date/time. (at least that's the assumption?)

The only way for someone to confirm SS and how they work, is if they know a buyer has downloaded an image, what day and time, and then check when it's reported. It would be interesting to know if it's reported as the download date or the reporting date.

Which could explain Saturdays being the dead day. Maybe downloads are set aside for other database processing on Saturday? Total WAG

Maybe someone who sends buyers to SS for requests could follow this?

If you're talking about a late arrival on your My Uploads page, in the past that would have denoted a credit sub sale. I guess it's possible some of these are still lurking in dark places - (?) unless they were all unilaterally converted to the new non-credit subs.

Nope but that would be another one.

I'm talking about this ball we've been kicking back and forth about reporting on IS, and I'm refering to credit sales only at this point. If others have a time and date, I'd guess it's the same.

Sales Reporting can take hours to days. But what I was watching for is the actual download date and time. This one took almost two days, but shows for the 31st. So I finally see one that confirms, the reporting day and time is when their system registered the sale, not when the sale was reported.

SS I still don't know if we are seeing things on the map and in our Earnings as reported or date sold. I'm assuming it's just reported, as processed. And here's why.

To date, I've never seen a sale posted two days later, where the numbers are $x and jump up for a couple days past.

Which means, if they just don't process on SS and the reporting can take up to 72 hours (according to  their information) I could have a sale on Friday and it shows u on Monday and I don't have any way of knowing that.

Watching and tracking DL days or DL times, becomes statistically, impossible to analyze for meaningful data.

That's where this question started for myself. Wondering locations and times and what days I was getting downloads on sites.

I think it's time for some Sherbet and time to stop wondering, because accurate, timely and valid data, isn't available.  :)

Sorry,  I thought you were talking about iS, but probably I'm wrong again with the SS references.  :-[

I've always thought that SS reports more or less in real time and I've never seen any reason to doubt that.  Them not reporting sales 2 days later probably just means they are much more efficient than iStock.  If it took 72 hours to process wouldn't that make Saturday and Sunday look much better because Wednesday and Thursday sales would be reported?

My map just fits the day almost exactly as you would expect.  I don't have many sales when I get up in the morning but most are always from Europe, which is already in business hours when I get up.  Sales from Asia and Australia usually come pretty late at night, which would also be business hours for them.

Most of my content appeals to Latin America and most of my sales are reported during business hours in Latin America.  It even seems to slow down around lunchtime.

Since most of my sales come from Latin America I'm not affected by US holidays and even if Shutterstock isn't in the office doing whatever it is that they do my sales still come in as they normally would.  I think most of it is automated except for the big SOD sales.

Yes DC, I agree, that's why I'm asking. But I will mention that SS has said, sales can take up to 72 hours to be processed and reported.

Just trying to get a handle on, how accurate both of these places are and how fast. IS reports a time and date, even if it takes two days to show up.
