Title: IS Earnings Rating ???
Post by: enstoker on January 29, 2013, 07:58
We are talking so much about IS, ....

but look at Earnings Rating on right: it is higher and higher...

What is this now ?

Maybe only contributors with crowns do better job?

I am in contact with some friends (IS non exclusive contributors) and almost all have in last 10 days slower sells.

New best match?  Oriented on IS exclusives maybe ?

Au contraire, it's getting ever lower and lower.
And IIRC it's done one month in arrears, so the figures shown now relate to January.
I'm not sure if exclusives can even vote there at the moment. I only seem to be able to do it on random months.

Assuming that the partner sales stay steady this will be the 2nd best month in over a year. Only beaten by May last year when I had some high paying ELs

Wow! Good for you
With 2 1/2 days to go, it's looking to be my worst month since July 2010 on iS sales alone. 1 dl yesterday and 1XS today. At least your post has reassured me that there are some buyers still there.
The previous best match killed all the uploads I made from September last year. Those in 'bigger' searches dropped out of the top 200 within a couple of days of uploading even if they made a 'quick sale', and there's no way back. This week's best match is full of files uploaded in the past week or two, then much older files.

Added: as usual, it's not the same best match across all searches. I just tried another one, where new files are nowhere to be seen (several uploaded this month - not by me), yet the previous two searches heavily favoured new files. As they said, it's bouncing around just now while they experiment with different parameters.

It's really strange things selling and it's not as good as it sounds as It's still less than half what it was 3 years ago.
I'm averaging about 7 -10 sales on a weekday whereas 50 dls was quite common  a few years ago.
eta I've just been and looked and my average in 2009 was 30 dls a day.  In 2012 it was about 5 (not counting pp sales)

I exclude PP sales in my IS statistics (including when I 'vote'). Apart from the fact that my images have been transferred from IS I consider the PP to be a separate 'agency'.

Same with BigStock. Although my images are transferred from SS via The Bridge (and I know that both SS and BigStock employees are in the same building) I regard them as two separate agencies and record/vote for them accordingly.

If thinkstock and photos.com are not included in istock earnings where should we put them?

In the PP box when Leaf includes it. The PP are now my 4th largest earner and might possibly become 3rd soon. They need to be listed in their own right as they have developed their own place in the market.

I've never considered BS and SS as one company as I was uploading to BS before they even did the bridge.

I include the partner programs in the site where the earnings are reported.

If you have images on Yaymicro do you report the earnings into the 8 different partner programs they have, or for Panther, the 50 or so partners they have?  If I upload images to Site A, then the earnings for that month at the end of the month that are shown for site A are reported in the poll.

The problem with adding PP earnings to those at IS is that you usually have to wait 3 weeks or so for the stats to be included before you can vote on the month. By that time I'm mainly concerned with how the existing month is going.

On my own spreadsheet I've recorded my IS stats for nearly 7 years before the PP earnings cropped up. For the historical data to be meaningful I must continue to measure the same elements.
