I don't know if I'm dumb or if they are dumber.

All rejected for, "The caption information for this submission appears to be inaccurate or misleading. Images must include accurate caption information to be accepted for royalty-free editorial use. All information must be in English and caption description text must be clear."

Which had me scratching my head. Oh look - City, Country Month Date, Year: Caption descriptive text.

By accident I left out the USA - in 18 files today.

OK it's my fault for thinking that I could have Milwaukee Wisconsin, June 17, 2011: Indycar Indyfest race Milwaukee Mile. Tony Kanaan interview press conference.

Instead of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, - USA, June 17, 2011: Indycar Indyfest race Milwaukee Mile. Tony Kanaan interview press conference.

I guess the country is must have and I've been putting it in, but just slipped a little. Or did I just hit a reviewer who's a stickler for details and didn't know that Wisconsin is in the USA?  ::)

Can anyone give me a clear answer? Not a big deal, I'm still trainable, but that missing USA part is making me wonder? And how can that be this submission appears to be inaccurate or misleading ?

It's stupid wording in a cookie cutter rejection, but Tickstock is right, you must have the country as per instruction.
I'm sure there must be many people who don't know that Wisconsin isn't in the US, but that's not the point. Even if it were NYC, the country is still needed.

NB, you must format that bit exactly as they specify, the punctuation and spacing could also get you a rejection if not as specified.

You're uploading to Istock!!!????

That's the real shocker in this story. How badly do you need that 15%?

Yes it's partly a precautionary tale, my mistake. Also if anyone ever sends up some Editorial you'll notice it applies the exact words and punctuation, BEFORE yours from your Description, into the Caption. Think they do that for a reason?  ::)

And yes, I should know better, put a note on the wall, "you need the country".  :)

Just amusing that SS used to reject for not having the punctuation and ALL CAPS dateline, and IS requested that you NOT use all caps. Whiplash and unnecessary.

SS also makes it clear that you don't need the country for places like Paris or if the city and state is given, but IS must have the country. (don't need the state by the way, just the city, but I include both anyway)

Nothing like some uniform submitting requirements and rules in the playground?

Yes Mr. G I have two working Microstock agencies, and they both take and sell what I shoot for Editorial. Was once 50-50 and then you know what happened, bottom fell out of IS. Now with the new program IS is gaining again, which means I've started submitting more.

Also with the new reviews, the collections are closer to the same content. With all that, IS is still only 20% of the SS total each month. I can use that bonus.

Huh? I've never seen that. When did that start? My last editorial upload was 4th Nov.

That is because "Portland, USA" is unambiguous, but "Portland, Maine" could be anywhere in the world.  ::)

Yes but I do plead guilty for not following instructions. Milwaukee, Wisconsin (spelled out) was the rejected site. I figure in Canada they aren't sure where Wisconsin is, even thought it's just "South of the Border?"  ;D

Yes Sue, using DeepMeta, when I click and it automatically copies the Description into the Caption for me, it shows the reminder. And since you don't use deep Meta, I understand why you don't see it.

By the way, I did a series of 18 images, I did the Categories, Dateline, Release, everything, including, disambiguated, on that one file... COPY and then highlighted the other 17, Pasted. I was done. Saved me 17 times, clicking the same drudgery.

That's why I recommend that people at least give the latest version a try?

It also shows, errors and when I drag all the files over to the right side (one click >> command) I hit upload and go do something else.

I know it's not as much fun as, one by one files and complicated categories or disambiguation, but I like it anyway.  ;)

Saves releases for re-use. Downloads statics and makes graphs and charts and free too. But heck, it's terrible to learn because it's identical looking as the site, except putting all the data on one page without jumping back and forth. And look, you can update files and keywords and make changes, offline in the software. Then click send.

The old way is much more fun, takes longer and is intricately clumsy. Why would anyone want to change.

Look Familiar? All one page.

Or maybe this? (with sorts by name, display or status?)

And the subject in question: (including the files EXIF date, no change if you compare to the dateline, entered)

IS must have the country. (don't need the state by the way, just the city
