Title: Is Istock blocked in China?
Post by: traveler1116 on October 02, 2009, 10:13
I haven't been able to get on to IS today or hotmail but every other seems fine, just curious if it's blocked here or not?  Anyone in China able to access IS or hotmail?

Try Anonymous.org to get around the great fire wall of china - not sure if it still works, but handy when I was there!

well www.anonymous.org (http://www.anonymous.org) and anonymous.org both timed out here so no help as of now.  Anymore info and this site might stop working?  And when do we get to see your new images?  Any suggestions where to go, we've been to shanghai (took mandarin for 2 weeks) and now we are in hangzhou, suzhou in a couple days then nanjing but we have at least two months open.

There are several contributers from Beijing and other parts, but I don't know if they have to do 'tricks' to access the site.

west lake in hangzhou is absolutely beautiful and there are so many tea plantations there. in the sourrounding vicinities, there is thousand island lake, a smaller version of three gorges, and huang sang mountain, which is the classic jagged chinese mountains with mist, etc.

further, there is guilin river...in beijing, there is a train that will cut through the desert to take you to tibet, quite a lot actually.

Sorry... I really should check my typing better - http://anonymouse.org/ (http://anonymouse.org/) - apparently it was blocked during the Olympics, but I thought it was working again.

As others have said - lots to see in China - if you haven't been yet, Xian is worth visiting. Wikitravel has a lot of tips for China too: http://wikitravel.org/en/China (http://wikitravel.org/en/China)

Update2: Not working again.
