I had a 10c download today. When we say they should increase the photographer's commission.... what's going on??

Interesting.
I also had a 10 cents sale today. This was the first time that I had ever received a 10 cent sale. I wonder if it is correct? And if it is, what is it for?

There is a sticky thread about this on the main forum at iStock, check it out here: http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=14852&page=1.
Basically there are still some very old credits wandering around from buyers that had bulk orders before the image prices went up. It's getting increadibly rare and I believe they all expire by the end of this year. Hope this helps :)

amanda:
Thanks for the reply.
I was just reading the thread and came back here to post my findings, but you beat me to it...

Thanks Amanda.
It'a amazing that the thread is so old (Jan 2005) and still these old credits are around. I guess they will only runout when they are all used.
10c just sucks. :(

Maybe if possible, they should post a running balance on how much 10c credit are still floating around. Otherwise, photographers will not know how many sales are valid 10cents sales since the site could always say that its from a 10cents credit. At least with such, they would have an idea/estimate as to when all the 10cents credit would actually be consumed.

I haven't had one for ages so my guess is that they are very few are far between now.

What image did they purchase of yours? I am wondering if it was the same buyer and we will see some obvious pattern.
Here is my photo that was purchased for 10 cents:

How can older credits be floating around when by policy unused credits are lost after a year? i know, i just lost seven for not spending them. IS sent me wranings once a week for sixty days that unused credits are lost if not spent within one year of purchase.

GeoPappas,
Unless the buyer is selling travel packages to New Year in Rio, I don't see a pattern. ;)

I was on the top of my building, that must be about 40m high. The concert was right in front of our building. :)
