...  well, must say, if morality is that expensive! I dont want none. :)

LOL!  Very well summed up Christian.  As you already pointed out, I was in the same boat as you.  I like to think I am an ethical person, but part of my ethics involve making sure my family has a roof over our head, food to eat, and my daughter has an education. When the morality of pulling my images from unfair sites conflicts with the morality of providing for my family, family wins hands down.  If I was single and had a day job or other revenue streams, I might have made a different choice.

That said, I have nothing but respect for the actions of people like Cathy and Cory who chose to pull their images.  I think it was a very brave thing to do and not without some personal sacrifice for them.   I can admire their stance even though it would have been completely impractical for me to follow suit.

Well said Lisa.  Great post and I totally agree with you.  Morals won't feed my family.

And neither will microstock in the not too distant future, at the rate it is going!  :D

And as far as options, yes everyone does have an option. You are not being FORCED to stay where you are, you have chosen it. But you STILL have the option to leave, if you choose. That's all I was saying. Christian makes it sound like someone is holding a gun to his head!  :o

Hugs to all.  :D

Thats it!  Lobo came over here and pulled a Magnum-44! ;D  seriously though I see your point and it was a brave thing you did! but I had already pulled my best sellers and really couldnt be bothered with any more. too much work for too little in return and as Lisa pointed out, when photography is your sole income, well, you gotta think twice.

best.

Loss of control of my illustrations was the clincher for me. I left my portfolio on IS, but stopped uploading to them on Sept 28. I couldn't bring myself to tear down the portfolio I built (and the earnings from it), but I decided to stop contributing anything more to them. Sort of a middle of the road approach. I have a mountain of medical bills to pay, so I can't afford to stop the IS earnings flow altogether.
