iStock 30/week upload limit?
fintastique:
I personally am wallowing at 35% acceptance with the almighty iStock though I am sure i am not alone in thinking that some of iStock's "Junk" is acceptable for other agencies who have smaller collections and less contributors.
I suppose ideally it would be nice to be able to choose between daily uploads and weekly upload limits as with their high rejection rates it would take a newbie longer to build up a portfolio as its dropped from 70/week to 30/week.
Though there is a distinct advantage after a big trip/photoshoot, submit what you consider to be the best shots to DT then after 4-5 days or less you will see their choices then you use this to tweek your upload to iStock

oh what? it went down to 30 a week. I guess i understood a little wrong. yeah, that is not hardly any at all. I think the week upload instead of the day upload is a big improvement, but it would have been much better if they had kept the same amounts as before
Striker77s:
Yes, I'm disappointed that the total amount went down but I still think it is better than the daily upload limit. The upload limit is different depending upon your level. Leaf you have over a thousand images and I bet a significant amount of downloads. So you might be in a higher bracket and can upload more images per week.

I am in two minds, lower limit but it iw weekly rather than daily.
Daily wasn't to much of an issue as I would upload each morning before I started work.
Dont think it will effect me as I only upload my more successfull photos which is less than 30 a week.

well today i thought i would try to upload some more images to istock as I think i have some that might do ok there.
I am not sure i am a big fan of the new limits. I think mostly it was a way for them to reduce the # of uploads while not making it too obvious. I am at 40/week, and i think before the limit was 20/day. So they cut the amount down tons. now it is in a way around 5.5 images/day which is almost nothing :S
I guess that is what the biggest player in the business can afford to do.
I look forward to when they are not the biggest player and are struggling to keep up.
