Post by: ichiro17 on July 26, 2006, 08:16
What is it?  How does it work?  Why are some of the photos so bad in there?

Hi! The Dollar bin was created to clean the site of old images with technical problems, thats why the most are bad images. Currently Istock select the images that goes there and they cost 1 credit no matter what size you download. If the image donīt get any download in 28 days is erased of the site.

Remember iStock was founded in May 2000 when digital cameras weren't so good and they weren't so may micro stock photographers about so I suspect they weren't quitre so fussy about images to build up their imagebase.

Now they realize they have a lot of dodgy pictures so are trying to clear them out or sell 'em cheap
