Title: iStock Is Now #3 Of The Big 4 In Earnings?
Post by: CraigMiller on May 13, 2014, 08:32
I don’t know when the article on the link below was published as it has no date, nor do I know how current these figures are, but according to the chart on this site (when you scroll down) Shutterstock is earning about double what iStock is earning and Dreamstime has pulled slightly ahead of iStock now too.

Not good news for iStock exclusives who have all their eggs in the iStock basked without the ability to earn from the sites which appear to be bringing in greater miscrostock photo revenues than iStock.

Still, it doesn't prove that 'everyone' would necessarily do better on SS.

Shutterstock's alexa rank is 194 and it says it has over 35 million images. Article says 1581 and 35 million

Dreamstime's rank is 651 and just crossed 23 million images. Article says 1066 and 22 million

I don't know when DT's rank was ever lower than SS, so perhaps the article is based on ranks other than global or is just wrong. As far as earnings, I'm assuming that's just one person's results, so it's largely meaningless for everyone else.

Well, not my case. IS is doing well and very close to SS for me (new portfolio).

FT a little behind and DT on a distant 4th place.

Will never understand how people make money with dreamstime. i have so less sales there and many rejected images..
