hello,
searched the internet for a neutral forum and have found these thanks god.
i am back from holiday with my husband and we found our istockaccount with my pictures closed.
no further notice just an email from istock:
"The administration team at iStockphoto has closed your account privileges.  Comments from iStockphoto Administrators (if any):

If you would like to discuss this with client relations, please email newbielink:mailto:[email protected] [nonactive].

Best Regards,
iStockphoto.com"
anyone else had the same experience? strange that i have an acceptanceemail from istock twenty minutes before the closed our account. none of my pictures is on istock anymore. i had a big amount of money before the closed our account at istock because the exchangerate to our currency was so bad so we decided to wait for a check also i'm loosing a lot of money everyday because we had a big portfolio with good sales on istock.i emailed istock but till now i have no explanation.
greetings rosa

yes really harsh unfortunatly we stopped uploading to other sites, and even deleted some  portfolios at bad performing sites, because we did so well on istock that we wanted to go exlusive at goldcannister which was not so far away. i will keep you informed.

By all means, you should email them back and ask what happened.  You should not, at the least, lose the money you have accrued.  My guess is that they made an error of some sort.  I've seen this happen before, and the poster had his/her account reinstated.

Don't just let them do this.  Keep emailing them until you get a satisfactory answer.

yeah that must be a mistake or an account which has been spamed or something.  I would give them a call on monday morning.  They should be able to come up with some answers.

keep us posted.

Just in case anyone was wondering about this and were afraid of random punishment from iStock but didn't hear the outcome elsewhere I read the following in posts on another  microstock mailing group from Monday 19-06-06.

They were a husband and wife team they set up an iStock account in his name she did the photography he did the keywords. He then changed the name on the account to his wife's name as they were actually her photos but then set up another account in his name.

They went away for a few days iStock didn't like this so suspended the account and as they were away they didn't notice. She has sent scanned ID to iStock but no word yet if there has been a happy ending.

I suppose changing names and setting up a new account with the original name iStock thought there was a referral scam going on.

So best to ask before doing such things
