I guess being lazy and taking a wait and see attitude pays off sometimes.

I saw Sean post the other day in the thread on PNGs - coming soon - saying that he was taking a "Logos" approach to PNG. When they actually do something, he'll start considering submitting content.

I didn't submit any logos, but I feel for those who did. And iStock can't even have the decency to just kill the project off so people can pull their content to use elsewhere and try and salvage some value from the hours they put in.

In a way, iStock is like one of those bad clients that strings you along with more promises than cash until you have the common sense to just walk away :)

I don't follow the Logos forum. Are the people who submitted logos not allowed to pull them? I guess some would have to pay back the money that was paid at the beginning to get the ill-fated project populated. Not that it's their fault.

You can pull them, and quite a few have done so. My twenty or so remain there purely because of my laziness.

Yes, I think you have to write to Support, and then there's like a 90-day period before you upload them elsewhere. Which is nutty, because they were never for sale in the first place. I pulled mine about a year ago.

One of biggest Istock fiascos ever. Why not close this program? It will never take off.

Edit to say: and all this mess is a complete disrespect with artists. Total waste of time for NOTHING.

I don't think it would make my top 10, but still a big blunder.  ;D

I submitted one, I wanted the icon bling. Lol!  I feel sad for those who work so hard and submitted logo designs regularly.  Take about your wasted effort.

This is what will probably happen: iStock will announce that the logos will be made available in the regular library starting in November, for X credits, depending on complexity.  If you don't want your work included, please deactivate those files...

But you didn't need to submit a logo - I got the icon bling automatically just by being a vector contributor :)
