Since the beginning of March, IStock hasn't reviewed any of my images that are related to the Ukraine War. Other images that have nothing to do with the war are reviewed normally.

Does anyone else have similar experiences?? Does Putin have a grip of Getty's balls?  :o

iStock\Getty doesn't accepting any news-relating editorial, especially as sensitive as war-related.

Honestly speaking, it makes sense.

OK.. didn't know that. However these are conceptual 3D images. Not editorial.

Getty absolutely accepts war news photos.

OP, no idea about vectors, sorry.

iStock doesn't accept News, sport or celebrity photos, and hasn't done for a long time. I think it's not to compete with Getty's 'house' photographers. Also, they don't have a mechanism for getting images quickly out to the markets.

IStock always has some images that take waaaaaay longer to review than others. For me it is usually everything that I submit with a property relase as well as everything where iStock seems to think I might possibly need one. Lately for example I had easter related photos waiting to be reviewed for 2 weeks, because apparently some reviewer had to contemplate about whether I needed a property release for dots and stripe designes. They went through eventually, it just took 10x as long for them as the rest of the submitted batch.

Since you say you submitted vectors, maybe that's a similar case. Maybe you submitted them  with a PR or someone might need to sleep a few nights over the quetstion whether you would need one or there is some other reason why reviewers have a problem deciding whether these images should be accepted or not.

From in-house and accredited photographers, as far as I'm aware.

Krakozawr is right. Everything that is "hard news" is not accepted by stock contributors. They have their own staff photographers (on contract or stringers) and those are the only ones allowed to supply this type of work. I am talking about images and video. I don't know about vectors as this are more "creative" in nature and should not collide but ......You might contact them and see what they say.

They allow news-related content as long as it is not editorial, so vectors should be fine if they don't contain any copyrighted material and can be used commercially. I never could submit Corona-related editorial images, but commercial was always fine.

But not for war.
As far as I know, it is official position, war-related materials should not be accepted and if something will occasionally passed, it will be deactivated.

Don't spend your time on it.

yes.. I guess they need to take a break for a couple of weeks before doing such a heavy decision whether accept them or not  ;)

These are actually 3D renders, not vectors, such as some furry dude holding a heart in Ukraine flag colors or oversized tanks on Ukraine map or so  8)

Sure, that's why iStock has 11936 illustrations and 8593 vectors about war....

In this topic, I believe that topicstarter means not a "war" but the particular one. Maybe I'm mistaken.

General concepts always were acceptable, but the particular situation with Ukraine is different. And even general concepts would be reviewed in the context of the current situation, which will take time indeed.

Mine were reviewed and rejected for these reasons:

Editorial: Uploads to the Creative or Creative Unreleased collection will be rejected if they are News, Sport, Entertainment or Event Coverage. If you wish to upload such images, you will first need to apply to Getty Images to become an Editorial contributor for that site. Please note that Editorial Photo contracts are generally only offered to working photo-journalists.

Commercial: The content in this file is not suitable for our broad Royalty Free license, or depicts sensitive or newsworthy subject matter. We have decided not to accept this file - future uploads of similar content will also be rejected

A few months ago I had some news related images and they were rejected, because I need journalist credentials

True, no images from big events, celebrities, on IS/ Getty with or without accreditation, only use house photographers. They are sending images right from events. Always have best place on ,,red carpet,, and aces to first line on events.
