iStock now allows Generative AI retouching, see their forum and contributor portal for guidelines.

just had a look, those requirements are a n opened can of worms.

There will be a ton of confusion.

I think I will stick to processing with old version of elements for istock without ai tools.

Nothing new, its something I was already doing for some time, instead of using cloning and wasting a lot of time to removing small things now we can do it with AI, im ok with this even tho i'm totally against generating full pictures with AI.

Because Getty's forum rules say that's against the rules. Can't find it now but I'm almost certain in the past they said that links to the forum were a no-no under that rule.

They have stated that you are not allowed to change the metadata of the images, so I am guessing the AI tools add things to the metadata that they can look at.

Yes, but a link to the forum, is not re-posting information. Someone still has to be a member and login, to read the forum.

Re the link: it's trivial to read the email we got informing us of the changes, and fairly easy just to go to the forum and look for it.

The announcement is a load of fetid dingoes' kidneys, raises many more questions than it answers, and seems to put into question non-AI retouching techniques which have been allowed for many years in Creative Images.

As ever, Jo Ann has posted a clear and incisive post about the lack of clarity in the announcement.
