Kelvin is CONSTANTLY locking threads and commenting that when PP starts there will be an official notification. But there NEVER is.

it really bugs the sh*t out of me.

Two faced hypocrites with a real gift for lip service.

I'll take their money but I don't have to like them.

Hmmmm, that's not 100% true.
Looking at the most recent threads in the PP forum over there, Kelvin has locked some but hasn't said that once in his locking post. He has generally referred people to the sticky which says PP should be paid before the end of the month.

IIRC either he, or Rob, or both, also said if there was going to be a delay there would be an official post; but as that hasn't happened, no official post seems to be necessary.

(thinks: do you really need a notification that it's started? If you're over there looking for a notification, you'd see your balance has gone up [unless you opt to keep your balance hidden, which would be your choice] and could check where the sales were coming from, probably with the same number of clicks as checking in the forum.)

I have a bookmark to my stats page so it only takes one click to check (plus a second one if I need to log in).

It seems the October PP was a once off. Seems to be back to normal penny earnings. Makes you wonder what happened in October.

Sorry to say, but it seems fishy to me. My October sales were great, and then the next day, November 1, they suddenly dropped? Coming after the Christmas Eve Clawback (sorry, "refunds") in many people's ports, it's especially fishy. My most popular file of all time on iStock sold the most in November, but somehow PP sales plummeted.

November was my BME on Shutterstock. Same images.

I simply don't trust iStock to be honest about my sales any more, unfortunately.

I think I am going to sue istock.. this is definitely not normal..

thanks to many people here and there who were surprised to earn a decent amount, I think istock thought it was too much for contri-losers and decided to screw contributors..

mid september, it had started to be decent and october was good, "november suddenly dropping" is definitely a "screw them up scheme"

no one can convince me otherwise..

totally agree.. that is veeery veery FISHY

they still have our files on all those additional sites.. it's impossible that we only had 1 good month and files suddenly stopped selling..

I think what we see here is sales were reported correctly last month and this month they wrote a script to filter some sales.. thus it took as long as it did to report them..

after all, contributors believed it was a mistake anyway..

I sent this email to istock to ask for an explanation..

"Hello,

Please explain why october partner sales were decent and this months partner sales are abysmal.

this is going to be a court case if you don't provide a logical explanation.

Best Regards,
Cihan"

They do owe me an explanation.. I urge everyone to do the same.. Don't let them screw you like this.. We have the right to ask for transparency about why the sales were good last month, and suddenly awful this month.. Did they withdraw our files from those partner sites? Did customers stop using them?

Send them an email and ask.. if they don't provide a logical explanation, then sue them..

if hundreds of people ask for it through their support (not on the forums) they will have to respond and act on it..

No I don't need an official notification, but that is not my point.

They refer people to the sticky, they lock threads, they send site mail that they have deleted posts and when the pp is starting they will post an official notification.

I just want them to FOLLOW THROUGH with their own rules and do what they say they will.

That is my point.

Ah, this is the first I've heard of the site mails. I thought you were referring to the forum.
Given that they say they'll pay by the end of the month, I'm not sure why people start whining from the middle of the month if they payments haven't started. Sure, bombard them on the first day of the following month. By the thousand.

Most likely you'll just get the cookie cutter response that 'your sales are correct'.
However, I'm impressed if anyone's monthly PP income is sufficient that it's worth a court case in the Land of Expensive Litigation.

There's always the danger that they'll 'discover' that October sales were 'wrong' and claw them back. It seemed odd at the time, that they'd ban exclusives from putting files there even if they wanted to, and shortly afterwards PP sales/prices seemed to soar.

There would be a court case if someone sued them.

I'm thinking back to the month PP sales were late, and everyone ended up with two or three days where there was a steep plunge in PP sales. Only because there was an uproar on the boards did iStock look into it and "fix" it. What if nobody had complained?

I simply cannot trust them.
