I am getting so many files rejected for missing model releases. The rejections suddenly started about a week ago and since then I have had over 15 rejections based on that alone. There seems to be no system in the rejections, some images with the same model are accepted and others are rejected based on missing model releases.
Istock has accepted these model releases with no problem before, so I am a little confused as of why they are getting rejected. I have not been able to find any official notice or reason on the forums or any other place. Does anyone know anything about what is going on and are people experiencing the same?

I have one rejection this type on IS based on non IS model release. I used an universal model release I always use, and I used it already for the same model on IS. But this time it was rejected. It wasn't big deal for me because the model was my wife and I just asked her to sign it again, this time the original IS model release

My assistants are completely sure they attached the model release when uploading. They upload/finish them online. We are facing a "loss" of releases of almost 50%. Are other people experincing this right now?

Last week I had one photo with "missing model release".  I didn't find it in the rejected bin, it was still in the pending cue.

I could have sworn I attached it.  It was especially memorable because I had to stich two releases together (the things we do for IS!)...  but who knows.  It was approved within 24 hours once I attached.

I received this message when their uploads were suspended last weekend.   I thought they were catching up the cue, but maybe it was a system bug that they caught if you have several "missing model release" and not "unacceptable".

Just to add, I think this series was in the cue for about 15 days, so that would mean my upload was about 20 day ago maybe?

Same here.

I have been uploading the release again as the e-mails come in. About 10-15 images from the same set. Most have since been approved, but I just had another e-mail before reading this post!

I thought I must have messed up, but maybe it isn't me?

BTW, I used deepmeta to upload w/release. Not sure if that's relevant.

As I pointed out above, model releases do disappear from time to time.  It's been pretty good the last few weeks.  It comes and goes.

Seems like there are too many bugs at istock lately that just end up being accepted as par for the course. And I'm as guilty as anyone for being so apathetic about it. I'll complain in forums about the awful search checkboxes (only way to reset them is to log out), but then I'll think, "oh well... nothing I can do about it and it will probably always be like that."

It shouldn't be like that, but unfortunately it is.

I hate those checkboxes.  I complain about them every chance I get.

it happens to me too from time to time but I often thought it was  me who forgets to attach the release.
but they don't actually reject the image ,do they?they simply put it back to pending queue after you upload the release they are re-reviewed but that causes a delay in approval of the image.

I upload using DeepMeta. I only saw disappeared model release once and I am not 100% sure it wasn't my own fault. I did also see it a few times in the past when I used web interface, but I thought it was my own fault. Anyway it was just a few times, nothing close to your 50%.

The same here. They reject MRs which they accepted 1000s of times before. Photographer's information is missing, this is their problem. It is thue that my contact info wasn't there except my name. This is a genral MR form, all agencies are accepting it including IS. I tested it before I started to use it with all my models.

Well, I can accept that they do change their rules but they should accept that I am not able to go back in time and resign the releases with models I photographed with a year ago.

It is true that sometimes the model release just are not attached even dough this has been done in the upload procedure or finishing the file online. The issue I am addressing is if there is an over-representation of model releases being rejected/not attached at this moment. When IS rejects a file based on model releases it does not specify why, only Needs Model Release
I use a Generic model release, but it has all the same fields as the IS release, so I could not imagine they would reject it based on missing information. Perhaps IS only accepts their own releases from now on?

I have some in que with generic model releases (used them before with no problem), so we'll see.

no, when they reject the content of the release the message is different than just missing release (sorry don't remember the exact text, but it's different). Are your photos rejected for "missing release" marked as "resubmit", or they are still in the pending queue, or they are completely rejected ("no resubmit")?

Hi Yuri, I find the Istock process so tiedious that I only upload there once in a blue moon but I have also had issues with AWOL Model releases of late as well as ALL IPTC Data going missing. I upload via the HTTP uploader because it seems like the bulk upload tool thhere that I paid them for always has one bug or another in it.

I've never had a photo rejected because of the model release - at most it goes to a "NeedsModelRelease" (or missing forgot the exact words) whereby you get an email saying what was wrong with the release. However after uploading/fixing the release the file goes throuhg straight away without losing its queue position

That has been my experience (limited as it may be) so far

There must be something wrong. I've had the same thing happening, just started about a week ago.

I had one rejected this weekend because of model release missing (and I know I attached it!), but now I have to re-upload, because it didn't put it back into the pending with a chance to add the model release so I've just lost an upload (I only get 15 too) Sucks.

At least they aren't rejecting images for the model release being sideways.  SS did that to me once.   ::)
