I have many photos pending for time (weeks, months) in iStock
iStock reviews just one or two photos a week (generally all are accepted)
My limit of upload is 999/7 in DeepMeta, but I have stopped to upload till I will have pending photos.

Is it normal?
How is it possible to build a valid and working portfolio in this way?  >:(

after they increased the uploads to 999 it appears many are reporting much longer review times than normal.
So for now, up to a month can be considered "normal". I uploaded a few mother's day images 2 weeks before the date, they're still pending. ah well. sold them on SS and DT at least.

Till now I have always uploaded few images at a time, waiting that they were reviewed - to avoid too much rejections on series for example and eventually then correct the issue before to continue the upload of the whole series.

So, if now I will upload 100 images at a time, will this speed up the review time?
Or will it change NOTHING?

The exclusive que is pretty fast. I get images through in a few hours or day at most. i guess they are moving resources around now

12-36 hour wait time suggests you are exclusive....that's my wait time and I'm exclusive (for another week).

I know on the video side they have an elevated review time for some contributors who have a proven track record of self editing and high acceptance rate...I believe I am in that department for video, but not so much for photos.

Well, the main difference is: If you upload them NOW they will be reviewed quicker than if you upload them LATER.

Given that a few hundred thousand additional images have been added to the queue in a very short time after they raised the limit PLUS the iStockalypse having taken away some inspector capacity for the last week, long wait times for non-exclusives right now should not be a surprise.

I am quite sure that eventually times will come down again but first the inspectors have to work through the backlog images uploaded by many people right away after the change. Though I am sure if you stop uploading images, those images will be reviewed even later in the end.

I'm not experiencing long review times at IS at all ... oh wait, maybe it has something to do with me not having uploaded to IS for several months?

I'll never go exclusive anywhere ...ever...(unless someone pays me 7 or 8 figures :) ) I do vectors maybe that has something to do with it.
